Yes, there GM is on his last legs there and they just hired Maddon. It's crazy the best baseball player in this generation Mike Trout has never won a playoff game.

Heard intresting discussion between Jon Bonus and Aaron Gleeman. Would you give Micheal Pineda a QO for next season? He would miss the first month and half of the season and it would be for about 13.4 Million for him. I think I would be inclined to do that he was there best pitcher for months.

I don't remember how does salary work in MLB when a guy is suspended? Does he not get paid? Would that lower how much his final price tag would be?

He doesn't get paid during the suspension they change this rule after Dee Gordon got busted I'm pretty sure because the Marlins were paying a massive contract to him. So a Qualifying Offer is One Year deal for 17.8 Million dollars so if you took out his remaining games on his suspension it would be around 13.4 million.

Thanks. I think for what would basically be a 1 year deal...sure unless you think you can get something better in terms of value or a guy locked in for a few years cheap like the Rangers did last year with Lance Lynn. I don't know what the market is gonna look like. I wonder if Pineda would be willing to take a 1 year deal for less than the qualifying offer.

I guess I should answer my own question I think I would rather have Cole also. I don't think he is going to be an option either and I don't have any insider info. =)

I was pondering today about the possibities of getting Whit Merrifield. I've been a big fan of him and he would 9 mil this year and then 12 mill the next two years and then a club option for the 4th year. I think he would be the perfect leadoff hitter for this team. Hes like Marwin were he can play anywhere. I figured you could trade Eddie for a pitcher and then trade for Merrfield to replace Eddie. I think a Killroff, Gordon and some prospect between 10-15 on our list could get it done. Merrifield is older I believe he's turning 32 this season.

I figured with this change you can have Kepler bat 4th.

Merrifield 9 mil (Bargin)
Polcanco 3.8 mil (Bargin)
Cruz 12 mil (Bargin)
Kepler 6 mil (Bargin)
Sano 6 mil (1 year of arb left)
Garver aka Mike Piazza 2mil (3 years arb left)
Marwin 9 mil
Arraez 550,000 and i think 6 years of arb
Buxton 3-4 millon (2 years of arb)

Wheeler 20 mil
Ray 20 mil
Berrios 5.4 mil (2 years of arb)
Odo 17.8mil
Hopefully Graterol by mid season 550,000 (7 years of arb)

116.2 sounds pretty reasonable for our starting 5 and starting lineup with 38.8 million coming off the books for next year with Cruz, Marwin and Odo.

I am wondering if Royce Lewis will be that guy that can play anywhere. He played 2nd, 3rd, and LF in AFL.

Interesting read on contracts. I agree with front-loading player contracts.
