I will be shocked if Berrios is on this team by July 31st. Him pitching well is only helping he's stock. He's a bonafide #2 and has playoff experience. With another full year of control.
That equals to multiple top 100 prospects. I'm not kidding about the rays if they think there window is now why would they not make a move with Glasnow on the shelf for the year.
I'm sorry you offer Berrios, Buxton and jordy blaze they would give you Wander Franco.
You start with the new core next year
2nd Arraez
SS Franco
DH Donaldson
1b Killrioff
LF Larnach
3B Miranda
RF Kepler
CF Nick Gordon and Celstano till Lewis is ready.
C Jeffers
Then you have 35-45 million to sign 3 starting pitchers by losing Buxton and Berrios and Cruz contracts.

Just watched the highlights that was a fun game. Ben R. with a no doubter HR to tie the game was unexpected.

Monster, I can't believe you didn't know an undersized catcher hitting .125 with 2 career extra base hits was going to tie the game!
It was a fun game, and even better, a 4th straight win. Jester has said we should expect Berrios to be gone, but I hope he's wrong. He had one tough inning yesterday, but it was the only bad inning he has had in his past 14...he is locked in. I hope they keep him, and Buxton too. I'm OK with letting Donaldson, Simmons or Cruz go, but let's hold on to our young guys and bounce back next year,

Idk what other options are out there but if it's limited I think a team that needs an upgrade at 3b should make some sort of reasonable play for Donaldson. His worst month of May he still walked 17 times and had 12 extra base hits. He had 8 HRs in June thats 1 HR every 10 PA. He is an above average fielder at the position as well. Will a team give up something worthwhile for the Twins to move him? Idk. I'm cool if he stays and also fine if they move him.
Let's go back to Ben Rortvedt for a second. He had never played above AA for this year and played 5 games and 22 ABs in AAA this year before being called up to the Majors. He had only played 55 games in AA when he was promoted in 2019. I'm not exactly getting my hopes up about him being a stud at the plate or anything but maybe him getting experience at this level could payoff. He had some decent numbers at the plate in the minors (for a catcher) with some semblance of extra base power. He turns 24 in September. Right now the catching position isn't exactly locked down although I still like Jeffers (couple months older than Rortvedt) and Garver who sounds like he is nearing a return soon which would push someone to AAA most likely Rortvedt.
I'm planning to go see the Saint Paul Saints play at least once when they come to Omaha later this month.

Fun stat I heard. The twins this year are
4-34 when giving up 5 + runs this year. It's not that your supposed to win in 5+ games but it's the fact they have 38 of them.
Also twins relievers have the al lead of given
up home runs at 55.

I thought that there were some possible holes in the pitching staff when the season begun but not like a soccer goal net with baseballs being whacked through them.

Jesters fun fact of the day
Pete Alonso salary for playing baseball this year $676,775
Pete Alonso won 1 million dollars for winning the Derby.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2021 Season
Twins swept by the Tigers ending any remote hope of the Twins doing something. The Twins Bats were really alive in this series coring a total of 4 runs all in game 2. Yikes. Happ got left out there because the Twins were already down 5 runs but it didn't look like a good day for him although he was solid early. Maybe he should be an opener? Lol

Berrios and Buxton need to be resigned. Should we?
EDIT - I didn't see Jesters post. I agree we should try and trade them at this point.
