Combined between the two levels, Miranda is hitting .349/.411/.614 with 22 homers and 19 doubles in 77 games while striking out just 49 times versus 30 walks in 360 plate appearances. He led the Double-A Central league in OPS at the time of his promotion and now has the second-best OPS in the Triple-A East league.

Only 5 Twins have had OPS close to this in 20 years in minors. Morneau, Kubel, Cuddyer, Kepler and Sano

Can you imagine the teams that were looking at guys to take kicking themselves over not doing so? Lol Some fans are upset about the Twins letting Baddoo go but...his success is honestly just a surprise. I mean the guy played 142 games at the A level and then made it to the Majors? It's kinda bonkers.

Simmons with a bunt single!!! I thought that was like outlawed or something. My Uncle who is a Royals fan would be so proud. He is so annoyed that people can't bunt anymore.

Ober with a solid outing giving the Twins a chance to win. They were able to do just that with an extra innings clutch win with Sano making a play and throw at 3rd to close out the game after Garver had a botched a play at 1st.

I've been down on Miguel all season and he fanned 4 times last night (after a nice stretch of games with few K's), but his glove has been impressive all season. Excellent bullpen last night. Two wins on the road in Houston isn't going to change the season, but we have been remarkably competitive since the big trades...and really restocked our prospect list. I don't like seeing Arraez hurt again, but I'm kind of enjoying this club right now and surprisingly optimistic about next year.

One thing about Sano is I get the sense that despite his problems at the play he seems well liked and is engaged in the game. It's not like some guy struggling that looks like he is isolating himself or being a problem. That take is only from watching extended highlights but yeah. I'm not suggesting I am loving when he is in the lineup but it seemed like in the past he had some sort of attitude or maybe just not always an engaged guy.

Monster, I've noticed the same thing with Sano...perhaps just took a little longer than most to grow up. I'm also encouraged by his batting the past 45 games....256/.320/.488 with 21 XBH and 8HR's. He has so much power and such a good glove, he's a viable option at 1b if he can just keep his average north of .250.

It wouldn't hurt for Sano to end up finishing the season somewhat strong especially if he stays healthy. I suppose it could convince some team to take him on if the Twins paid like half of his salary...but then I mean saving 5 million or whatever and a roster spot is nice but I don't think that's going to have any significant impact on the roster going forward unless it keeps the Twins from protecting the next Miranda or Badoo. Lol

This team is getting more fun to watch. They take 3 out of 4 in Houston with resurgent Polanco, amazing Arraez and Sano leading the way. I miss Cruz, Berrios and Rogers (hurt), but they're actually playing much better without them...and with Buxton also missing. They need to add a frontline pitcher in the offseason, have Rogers and Buck come back healthy, and maybe see Cruz come back, and they can do some serious damage next year.

Polonco is crushing the ball and only 3 more HRs from a career high in that category.

Speaking of crushing the ball Sano blasted a HR and while he had an error and didn't quite get to another ball he had a heck of a stretch to finish out the game.

Like you said this team is fun to watch and the difference is partly that the pitching is giving them a chance. Honestly this season they probably would still be in the hunt for the playoffs is they had 2 middle of the road starters. For a chunk of the season they were rolling out 2 of the worst starters in the majors...part of the season that included Maeda and then Happ joined the party. Obviously you gotta have better pitching than that once you get to the postseason but still. Also can they turn the pen around? Gleeman had an article about the rookies and he wrote how Alcala should be a good reliever with his stuff but he has problems against left handed batters.
