Wolfson tweeted the Twins have kicked the tires on some 3rd baseman including Donaldson.
The provided link includes Darren Wolfson's reports. As a fan, I could rally myself behind Josh Donaldson -- however, I have zero interest in the likes of Todd Frazier.
Oops sorry for not clicking the link.
Frazier was a decent hitter last year. What's his defense like? Also what if his price tag was pretty cheap on a 1 year deal like 5-7 million? I'm not advocating for it but it might make sense depending on what they are trying to do. In sort of that same vein I wonder what Dozier would look like at 3rd base and I think his price would be relatively low. Personally I would rather roll with Sano at 3rd and Cron at 1b but I would be considering a variety of options. Josh Donaldson on a shortish term deal sounds good to me. I thought teams should have been more aggressive going after him last year.

Frazier's quite bad against right-handed pitching and is basically a platoon player only on a team looking to compete. Frazier would be fine as a bench player, but the Twins should be aiming so much higher than him -- especially when they have this much of their payroll available. Open up the bank, Pohlads.
Sam Dyson being investigated by MLB after a couple Instagram posts. I saw the one on the cat Snuckles account yesterday. I was feeling sad after seeing that and wondering what was going to happen.

I had dinner with one of my buddies that's still in the twins organization. Take it for what it's worth but don't expect the twins to make deals with the Giants for awhile. Internally the Twins truly believe the giants knew about his injury and this domestic abuse charge coming up and didn't inform the twins. The problem with this is there's really know way to prove it but I was told upper management is pissed.

Do your buddy mean they think the Giants knew about this relationship problem? The domestic abuse investigation seems to have come up directly because of social media posts this week. We're the Twins aware of a problem before this?

Yes the Giants knew about his relationship problems and his injury problems. We gave up a 4th outfielder at best to the GIants him.
On a side not the nibbler Kyle Gibson got 3 years 30 million today. Now im scared to sign Wheeler at 20 million is he really only twice as good as Gibson lol?

It's still a disaster of a trade but I haven't seen anything that suggests the Twins didn't do what they should have. Like you giving up Jaylin Davis doesn't bother me a ton. Let's say the Twins don't trade for Dyson they were likely going to trade for someone else. That player/relief pitcher might not have been here past last season either. So really what was the opportunity cost? One reliever wasn't likely going to put us over the top against the Yankees. Davis would have had to be protected on the 40 man or exposed to Rule 5 draft. Is he a better prospect (or more valuable when you consider positions) than player X that they added to the 40 man? Idk but I doubt the difference is significant. The other prospects were/are a long ways off and you never like just giving up those guys but until one of these guys turns into something meaningful I'm not going to worry that much about it unless we hear the Twins didn't do proper due diligence. I don't expect to hear that though because this group seems to do their jobs.
Texas likes these 3-30 deals for former starting Twins pitchers as they did that for Lance Lynn last year. I'm expecting 3 for 30 to turn up as a special at Applebee's soon. Lol We will see what the Twins do with the rest of the rotation but 3-30 sounds plenty reasonable and yeah I might end up being jealous of that contract. Hopefully Gibson's health issues are sorted out because he seems like a good dude and he isn't amazing but I also think he is a different pitcher mentally than he was a couple years ago when he would just unravel.
Orioles placed Jonathan Villar on waivers? Yuck. I get that he's projected to make $10.4M in arbitration, but come on. How do you justify that to your fans?
Villar was 4.0 WAR last year! Know who else was 4.0 WAR? Whit Merrifield, Tim Anderson, and Max Kepler.
Know who was sub-4.0 WAR? Anthony Rizzo, Gleyber Torres, and Austin Meadows.
You don't put those guys on waivers!
He'll probably clear waivers because apparently Baltimore tried to dump him beforehand, but if Minnesota wants to steal a really solid player that can do a lot of different things for a ball club, he'd be a good get.
