Gordon got another start at SS I wonder if he is going to get more starts there. Jax was the victim of some errors and ai think he was a little better in this game than he has been but he isn't doing well in his audition for a spot with the team in 2022.

I was unlucky enough to shell out $200 to be at that game last night, monster...at least the weather was nice. Jax was fine when he kept his slider down, but I think we have learned his command is just not consistent enough to be a major league pitcher. He's given up about a run an inning the past three weeks, and you're right... sometimes it looks like batting practice out there. Quantrill is really good so I'm not going to fault our hitting too much. But there's no excuse for our sloppy defense. It was an embarrassing effort. Thank god for an off day today!

$200 to go to that game? Must have been some good seats. Wait was that you sitting in a folding chair on the field next to the 3rd base line? :)

Ha, they were good seats but there were FOUR of them...I took my honey and her parents. Let's just say there have been better nights at Target Field :snore:

Donaldson was getting a nice ovation last night in Toronto which is kinda neat.

Twins kicked the ball around a bit but made up for it with their bats.

The drama about this team going forward this season is can they play above .500 the last 14 games to avoid being a 90 loss team? Stay tuned!!!

The poor defense this season has been very surprising to me. I thought going into the season that we might have the best defensive infield in the league...especially the left side. And with Buck in center, I thought the outfield would be outstanding too. But we haven't been very good in the field at all. Last night showed a little what this team can be next year...a nice outing from Pineda (who they have to bring back) and some impressive power. I think they can play above .500 the rest of the year, but it will be a challenge with Jax going out there every 5th day. Man, I'd love to see Miranda come up and play a few games though...that would be fun!

Hey this Joe Ryan kid might be pretty good. 11 strikeouts in 5 innings tonight.

Kepler is on a roll right now.

Colome made it too interesting but another nice win for this squad.

I'm just watching the replay now, monster. I commented before in this thread, but no other MLB pitcher (other than submariners) has a lower release point than Ryan, and those that are close generally have outstanding stats...guys like Freddy Peralta and Josh Hader. Roy Smalley said last week that his low release point makes it very difficult to see his fastball well...especially when he works up in the zone, where he is practically unhittable. Ryan has commented that he thought he should have moved up faster within the Rays organization, and I can't disagree.

Yeah what a stud. This organization seems to have better luck trading for pitchers than developing them in-house.

Is Berrios still doing the second half slide? I have not paid attention.

On the contrary, he's been even better for Toronto. Good for him. I hope he keeps it up in the post-season if the Jays make it.

Bleed maybe you were thinking of Kyle Gibson. He has not been as good with the Phillies after the trade.
