Mudiay, Dozier, and Garza didn't play. Garza because he's with the big league squad.

How for Minott look if you watched. Not having Garza on that squad really affects that squad.

Also I love Garza he is such a positive teammate on the wolves bench. He really stands out

Totally agree with you, kek, on your observation about Garza's demeanor on the bench. And I also love his talent. At some point, I want to Knight gone and replaced by Garza on the regular roster.

Kek, I didn't catch this game. He had 20 points and shot well, which is a big difference from yesterday. I did watch the full game yesterday and he was really bad.

As underwhelming as he actually looks like out there at times, Moore Jr. is someone we really, REALLY should be rooting for.

I'll take those boring stats Moore is putting up in Iowa. Lol

Garza, Minott, and Mudiay power the Iowa squad to another home win. Minott has a bit more of a scoring/offensive arsenal than I anticipated coming out of college. Garza just continues to be an offensive force, average over 26PPG and 70 FG% over 4 games so far for Iowa. He makes it look pretty easy down there!

If we can't re-sign Reid, Garza may not be a bad option as an offensive stretch 5 off the bench next season.

I was also surprised by Minott's offensive arsenal watching him in Summer League. He's a much better ballhandler and shooter than advertised coming out of college. Garza and Minott have been highly productive consistently so far this season and have clearly been the two best players on the Iowa squad.

Garza had 30 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals and a block tonight. His shooting was highly efficient as he hit 11 of 18 FGAs, 2 of 4 three attempts and 3 of 4 free throws. He had all-around great numbers. Especially noteworthy were his 6 assists and 2 steal. He's a talented player. Minott's stats were also impressive with 21 points on 10-16 shooting along with 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and only 2 turnovers. He was a +17.

But let's not overlook yet another really good game by Mudiay. He had 25 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, 2 blocks and zero - repeat zero - turnovers as the team's starting PG tonight. He hit 10 of his 14 FG attempts and 2 of his 2 three attempts. He have 5 steals his last game. He was a terrific NBA player his first year in the League. He's struggled the past few years, but the talent is there and I like that he hasn't given up. We should keep our eye on him as someone who might be able to help this team later this season. He's a tough, high energy player.

Something to remember about Naz Reid...he is 10 months younger than Garza. Good teams are able to find guys to replace guys that leave because they legitimately look for a better opportunity. The Wolves look like they may have 2 players that could fill Reid's role in Knight and Garza. Neither guy has Reid's shot locking but they play a little more physical than Reid has in his career.

I'm not positive but I think Mudiay is another top 10 draft pick guard that went from being a guy that was supposed to maybe be a star to a guy that works his butt off to do whatever he can do to stay or get back into the league. I think he plays some D which is helpful with his physical tools. I don't think he will ever be a shooter (I guess his 3 point shooting is less bad than I remember) but a guy that can play the point well enough maybe guard multiple guys and push the pace...could be a guy worth having on an NBA roster. He was reasonably productive with the Knicks and Utah. He turns 27 in March so while I wouldn't suggest there is some sort of massive upside there is a chance he becomes a more worthwhile version of whatever he is right now. I think he can be an NBA player given the right situation.

I agree with all your points, Monster, except viewing Knight as as potentially adequate replacement for Naz. Reid is immensely skilled with remarkable footwork and ability to score inside. Knight isn't even close to Naz on skill, yet Naz is at least as athletic. And Naz is serious and competitive; characteristics I don't see at all in Knight. So I don't see Knight as a viable replacement for Naz. That's one reason I'm excited about Garza. He's a really skilled, smart player who could potentially fill the gap if Naz leaves.

Good thread - appreciate the updates from those posting here. FYI - you guys probably already knew this (because this is the internet), but here is a link to Iowa stats:

Garza, Mudiay, Moore Jr. and Minot all doing very well. It's always fun to hope some of those guys could contribute if needed.

I don't follow the G League, so I appreciate the updates from you guys. It's clear that we have some talented players down there. I agree with Lip that Knight will never play meaningful minutes for an NBA team...he has some talent, but he's a clown. I love hearing the Garza reports though. Naz has been terrific this season...his footwork on offense keeps getting better, and with him improved quickness on defense, he currently has the third best net rating on the team (behind Rudy and SloMo). Ideally we will be able to re-sign him at a reasonable price and only need Garza if one or more of our bigs get hurt. But if Naz prices himself out of our range, it sounds like Garza could be a nice fallback.

Amusingly Knight has already played some meaningful minutes for 2 playoff teams.
