I remember seeing a game like this in that Jimmy Butler season when we were going up against some team missing most of its starters that was soft tanking anyway and we should have just walked all over them. But all these no-name guys came out hot, we came out cold, and the energy just went in opposite directions. Our guys started whining and pointing fingers and just seemed to lose energy, and their team just seemed to get so energized their guys. You could see they were like, surprised they were ahead, and just decided, fuck it, let's beat these guys! And sadly, they did.
KAT going down a lot. Been hit in the head a couple times now too.
Even if we win this game, the fact that we're letting it be close means our starters won't get the rest that we could have gotten them if we'd have blown these guys out from the jump.
Sharpe hits the 3.
KAT driving kind of wild here, turns it over.
Then KAT with the good D on the other end. Nice to see that.
The beanpole hits a 3. Seriously, that dude is skinny as hell. Makes McD look like Arnold Schwarzenegger.
SloMo hits the shot.
Sharpe hits another 3. Gotta stop that guy.
NAW with a nice pass to SloMo, who is just really finding the soft spots on D, as Marney's been pointing out.
Sharpe misses another 3.
Rudy back in, corrals the rebound but almost turns it over passing it up the court. Portland's defenders are looking for these steals, we really need to be smarter about our passing.
Good-sized crowd at Target Center tonight, at least in the lower deck.
Conley with a bit of a risky cross-court pass, but Ant hits the open 3 from the corner off of it.
Rudy the tap back off the Blazer miss.
SloMo literally just went 1 on 3 and scored the floater.
Then SloMo the lob for the Gobert dunk.
Have I mentioned I love SloMo? I love SloMo.
YES! They called the offensive foul on the Portland guard for that bullshit dribble-move where the guy stops directly in front of a defender to draw the contact.
McD with a nifty layup with his right hand on the left side of the basket.
Conley hit Gobert with the lob. Rudy was in an awkward spot and should have come down and jumped again to get the dunk, but instead tried to catch lay it up and missed it.
A couple nice McD plays, including some great D that led to an Ant dunk.
Gobert stopping Eubanks down low.
Ant with the layup.
Defense tightening up now. C'mon guys, tell me you're awake!
