As a team, Minnesota had an Offensive Rating of 113.3 and Defensive Rating of 112.6 in the 58 games prior to trading for a 35-year old Mike Conley Jr.

In the four games since, Minnesota has an Offensive Rating of 110.3 and a Defensive Rating of 118.9.

It would be unfair to put all of the blame on Conley, and a four game sample size can be corrected rather quickly, however, the Timberwolves have legitimately been worse offensively AND defensively since they acquired him. I don't think there's any way that can be reasonably disputed.

Ha, I know Jester. I was at the Hornets game, and my gal asked me why their record was so bad this year...they looked pretty good to us. Well, some of their best players (Ball, Oubre and Hayward) have missed almost half their games, and Rozier has also missed 11 games. They're healthy now, and Miami and the Wolves both found out that a healthy Hornets team is actually pretty good...they've won 4 games in a row! Meanwhile, the Wolves have struggled the past three months without KAT, and Miami has lost 4 games in a row without Lowry. A savvy NBA better would have made some scratch riding the Hornets the past few days.

This doesn't excuse the fact that I don't think the Wolves played very well Friday night. We need to be better if we're going to have any success on the West Coast trip.

During the game... I was thinking that Charlotte just looked like the more TALENTED team.

Isn't that still a HUGE problem though? Maybe even scarier than just being outworked? Because this team is hamstrung with this group.

Obviously, Towns was out and that's a big deal. But in today's NBA, it's simply not feasible for a team to expect great health from its best players. And the Wolves complementary crew simply isn't very dynamic or even good.

[Note: That being said... the Hornets scored 72 1st half points and it wasn't just because they shot well. The Timberwolves played terrible, uninspired defense... which was evident with the eye test or the 20 free throws the Hornets shot.]

Oh the talent we let slip through our hands. Kris Dunn went 15/8/7 with no turnovers and a steal last night for the Jazz. Bates-Diop made 9 out of 10 free throws in the same game. And of course Okogie is averaging 15 PPG his past 10 on 50% shooting (47.2% on threes). Nothing new to see here...

I wasn't gonna say anything but you went there. Lol

Meanwhile just look at the stats Juancho is putting up with the Raptors or Noah Vonleh with Boston. Both of them are still just 27!!! :)

Sorry, monster  . If it makes you feel any better, Beasley and Vando were 3-11 in the first half today, and the third TimberLaker (DLo) isn't playing. Some solace?

FNG - You should have waited for the Laker game to finish before posting. :) Vando finished with 15 efficient points, 17 rebounds and 4 steals. Last night Kessler finished with 12 rebounds and 5 blocks. The Bulls have won two straight games since Pat Bev joined them. Today they won by 20 point. Pat's not scoring much, but I suspect he's having an impact. He impacts winning.

I'm confused about why you are upset we didn't sign a 26 year old PJ Dozier

I would have signed Dozier even i don't think this Wolves team has a chance to do anything this season. If TC is serious about winning this season, which i thing it he is, then it would have made sense to sign Dozier and cut Rivers. That seems like an easy call to me. Would it have made a material different in the outcome of the season? Probably not given the state of this team. But I can see Dozier making a material positive difference for the Kings because they're a legislative playoff contender this season.

Thanks for the response.

I'm not sure Dozier would be a good representative in the legislature or not. I think they maybe should have gone with Jeremy Lin since he went to Harvard. :)
