I'm concerned the market for KAT is shrinking. He makes a ton of money for a guy who doesn't make a big enough impact on winning. If we had traded him 2-3 years ago like I was suggesting, he would have brought back a haul. Some of the bloom is off the rose.

Damn! Everybody, except for FNG, jumped off the bandwagon! ;-)

I think we should continue the knee jerk reactions... ~

I'm actually pulling for the 6 way tie that vaults Wolves to the 5th seed. Or maybe a 5 way tie that vaults them to 6th.

100% agree, he's a loser, I think his personality has to be draining on a team. The idea of Kat is much better than the reality of his impact on the court. If he were a 3rd or 4th year player I wouldn't trade him but we've seen this for too long.

Trading him obviously depends on the return, I personally think it's addition by subtraction. Sign Naz and deal Kat is the best for roster construction. Where it gets tricky, Conley is going to have to swallow his pride, because it's almost impossible he gets as good of return as he gave up for Rudy, but he still should be able to get a good haul.

That being said, a Naz /McDaniels PF/C combo averages 8.5 rebounds between the two of them.

NAZ doesn't play many minutes, Jaden doesn't play power forward.

In any sort of Towns trade, I'm gonna assume they're getting some wing player in return.

I also assume if they're gonna move Towns, the first team who shows interest in Gobert will land Gobert, whenever that is.

The Trae and Dejounte pairing has worked about a well as the Rudy Kat pairing. Quin Snyder is now at the helm in Atlanta. Is a Rudy/Dejounte trade in the cards?

LOL.

It's been 79 games, Tim.

I've thought about that one. Not sure they'd be interested in Rudy since they have Capela. But maybe there's a possible three-way deal.

The rest of the League will view KAT more objectively than unhappy local fans. His numbers speak for themselves. I get KAT's limitations, but the "loser" narrative is silly. He's had multiple head coaches and changing teammates constantly around him ever since he arrived. He's only had one season with another all-star player on the roster. The Wolves finished 10 games over .500 last season with KAT as the team's best player and no other allstars on the roster. With the rise of Edwards, KAT no longer has to be the team's #1. Let's see KAT for a full season with the improved Ant and McDaniels along with Kyle Anderson, but without Rudy who just doesn't mesh well with KAT - which just about every knowledgeable NBA observer predicted when the trade was made.

We can trade KAT next summer if we don't get back to at least where we were last season.

It's all about the eye of the beholder. The Wolves would definitely find teams interested.

But it's not a stretch to say that Towns' stock has dropped. It's been 8 years... and he's getting a HUGE raise soon.

I believe a 6-way tie for 5th is almost a mathematical impossibility (Lakers play the Clippers, so somebody loses, but somebody wins). A 5-way tie for 6th is not out of the question. A 3-way tie for 7th is certainly in play, although a mere 2-way tie for 8th is distinct possibility. But all those scenarios pretty much assumes the Wolves win out. You won't find me laying any money on that one!

As CAM said, "just make the tournament". And see if these guys can capture some lightning in a bottle (without getting fried!). Three more games to figure it out and create some momentum.

ESPN posted today about the 6 way tie but their information could be wrong. Honestly Phoenix is probably the worst matchup though. I just want the Wolves in the dance though.
