Nowell showcased himself nicely last night. I would not be shocked if they move him today. Obviously they have to find the right deal. But, similar to DLO, we are looking for value for a guy who likely will only be here for another 20+ games anyway. Certainly NAW can fill in for Nowell, but with all the Bones chatter, I feel that's something that they are trying to make happen before today's deadline.

He sucks. 3 franchises smarter than us have given up on him.

At best he becomes a way more expensive Nowell replacement. They might need him just to have bodies unless Connelly finds gems next summer.

Have you watched him this year? I haven't, but it sounds like based on Utah fans and his numbers, he absolutely doesn't suck this year. Sometimes it takes guys a few years to figure things out....

I'm not sure how expensive NAW would be and he has way more 3D potential than Nowell's weak defense and one on one mentality. NAW could definitely be involved in another deal due to salary but could also be nice to get a close look at a player they may view as having untapped potential.

I absolutely love getting this guy! I like the swap of Dlo for Conley for fit, but I might be more excited to see this guy.

TC has made several great moves now. Only problem is he let Ainge take him to the woodshed last offseason... that was unforgivable, but he's doing a really good job of trying for forgiveness.

He's got to be better than Forbes right? If so there's an upgrade. I can't see where he will get minutes but maybe he blows the doors off of the gym in practice and gets some minutes.

Quite bummed that TC didn't offer Nowell and 2 2nds for Bones. I don't see the Wolves keeping both Nowell and NAW after this season, so going after Bones who has 2 more years on his contract and potential as the future PG, or microwave sixth man, would have been a nice move. The only imminent roster focus then in this offseason would have been to extend Reid and match an offer to NAW if reasonable.

I'm warming to NAW...makes me feel even better about the deal. TC said Finchie wanted him after coaching him in NOLA. And his stats this season are by far the best of his career...15.5/4/5.2 per 36 with a 61% TS%. His numbers weren't nearly as good before he came to Utah.

Hmm...nice to have a PG that makes you better, huh?

It seemed they were still interested in adding Bones but I'm gonna guess they felt like the price of Nowell and two 2nd was more then they wanted to pay when they had also acquired NAW. I don't think it's been mentioned yet but NAW's rookie year Finch was an assistant there so there is some familiarity. Obviously the biggest difference between Bones and NAW and Nowell is he has shot the 3 well in his career. The bad thing is Nowell and Bones have the rep as poor or disastrous defenders. NAW has some some good things this year and even someone averagish there would be nice. He has a little more size than either Nowell or Bones so that helps. His upside isn't as high offensively but if Bones can't ever defend anyone (still is under 170lbs) that's gonna be a problem even at PG.

It would be really great to find a solid big guard that can do a little of everything next to Edwards that could be at least a solid defender. NAW probably isn't that guy but Bones probably isn't either. At some point the Wolves will need someone on the perimeter other than Edwards that can get a bucket whenever. Maybe that could even come as a 6th man bench guy type. At this point the Wolves need to be looking at options for filling the guard spots. If both NAW and Nowell leave this offseason there will be an opening/pretty good opportunity for a guard to get some minutes with this team. That could land a guy that's ends up being a good/worthwhile player.

I have always liked the idea of what NAW can become. At 6'5/6'6 with a 6'11 wingspan he has plenty of potential on both ends of the court. He can score at all 3 levels, although his FT% is alarming. His defense is definitely better than both Bones and Nowell. I know Nowell had a great game, but a guard with no D, lack of facilitation skills, and a pretty poor 3pt shot has no real place in the league and I do not understand why Finch is so enamored with him. Bones does suck on D, but his offensive potential is huge.

Nowell seems hell bent on leaving for some reason, even though he is getting plenty of run here, and with this being NAWs 4th team, I doubt he will cost much to retain.

I hope the Wolves keep Rivers on another minimum.

Conley/Jmac/Ant/NAW/Rivers/Moore (though I am not high on him) is not a terrible guard rotation. You're right, this offseason will be real important on finding the future guard pairing to Ant. Conley and Jmac are not that. It will be tough with the limited cap and draft assets. Here's to hoping TC can find a gem in the 2nd or undrafted market.
