Mike Conley Jr. shot just 37.7% from the field, including 35.5% from three-point range, in 28 games from October to January. He posted a 48.0 eFG% and 51.7 TS%. 17 of those games were below 40-percent from the field.

He found his shot again in January shooting 42.5% from the field, including 39.3% from three in 12 games. He posted a 53.8 eFG% and 58.3 TS%. Six of those games were below 40-percent from the field.

His track record indicates that he should be closer to those January averages moving forward, and he typically doesn't shoot it with enough volume to help or hurt you, but it is something to keep an eye on. We know all too well about players coming to Minnesota and losing their shot, or at least slipping X number of percentage points.

And for those that believe in individual Defensive Ratings as an accurate indicator of defensive performance (I do not), Conley's 117.4 is pretty terrible. That's actually worse than the much-maligned player he's replacing.

I think you're missing the overall point with replacing D'Lo with Conley. All reports show that D'Lo was not going to re-sign here. Reports from two teams now claim D'Lo's personality and play is not conducive to leading a team as a pg, which this team needs.

D'Lo is undoubtedly more talented and quite young, but moving forward with him beyond this deadline made zero sense. The team is stuck with Gobert (still fuck you TC), and I believe Conley fits the team this year and next better overall, while giving much needed time to figure out this roster.

D'Lo will always hunt for his. Conley will run a talented team much better and not worry about his. 11 points and 7 assists is fine from our point guard. Especially one who is not going to be throwing a lazy pass out of nowhere just because. D'Lo is a combo guard. This team needed an actual PG.

We can respectfully agree to disagree on just about everything you said here. I don't need to get into anymore spats about him. You feel the way you do, and I don't want to rehash it for the X amount of time.

And no, I understand why the team acquired Mike Conley Jr. I don't agree with it, but I understand it. There's no point being missed. There's no confusion about perceived fit or financial flexibility. I'm aware of it all.

Then why are you arguing with everybody as if you're part of D'Lo's entourage? He's gone. He wasn't going to fit here in the long run. Get on with it.

Name me a player who has been moved by every franchise he has been on within 2-3 years by the age of 26 who has proven all of those doubters wrong.

Cam fought the good fight for his guy. He's not just going to let go one day after the trade.

I hated the Butler trade and Thibs hire. Correct. Most did. RIP Flip. I still hate the Gobert trade, dislike TC, and view it as a complete shortsighted fuck up and overpay. Most agree. I bring them up because our franchise has done the Einstein insanity ad nauseum. Not to defend a middling player.

D'Lo has been deemed by 100s of NBA internal employees to not be a guy conducive to performing what is necessary for a winning franchise. There isn't much to argue. The guy believes he is worth more than what he provides. That is all I am stating.

I'm not saying you're wrong about DLO, just find it odd how you expect Cam to immediately move on from a player he really liked that he disagrees on the front office with trading and yet it's OK for you to complain again and again about front office moves that happened much longer ago.

For one, I just state my opinion. I don't come back every day to debate somebody to prove how I am right. I don't care how Cam views D'Lo. He is wrong on some points and right on others. I do not know why he goes to the end of the earth to attempt some kind of proof otherwise. I don't mind the guy at all, he seems plenty smart enough to handle his own discussions on such topics, and I enjoy reading his positions on everything here. Whether I agree or disagree, though admittedly, I am more apt to post when I disagree.

There is no need to come to his defense.
