Durant is so elite off and on ball that it seems like he's the ideal star to pair up with a ball dominant star (like he did in a gsw jersey). It will be interesting to see how Luka and kyrie co- exist and whether kyrie signs a deal there.
Risky move by the Mavericks. Obviously, I assume Doncic is 100% on board with it. (I mean what type of GM would make a franchise-altering trade for the next decade without checking with the coaches and star players first... wait... don't answer that!)
But Kyrie Irving has now taken a blowtorch to THREE organizations, after huge expectations that led to decent to great success. And the Mavs are pinning their entire future (Doncic) on Irving's feeble mindgames and PR stunts.
Meh.
I can't imagine a single Mavs fan who wouldn't choose Brunson + Finney-Smith + Dinwiddie + keeping picks >>>>>> Kyrie Irving. Seems to me that the Mavs are trying to hide from their Brunson blunder.

It's a sign of desperation by the Mavs because they realize there is a clock on Doncic's patience and that will last only so much longer. It was either do something like this or.....what else? They weren't going to get it done with the squad they had and the Brunson mistake is now water under the bridge.
