Cool - Good point about the Irving deal possibly resulting in the Clippers having interest in trading for DLO. What are some potential DLO trades to the Clippers you would consider both realistic and beneficial to the Wolves?

Terrance Mann plus a big contract. Probably Marcus Morris.

Mann and Morris alone wouldn't work under the cap. The only thing I can come up with that would work from both a salary-match and roster-number perspective would be the following:

Clippers Get: DLO, Forbes & Nowell
Wolves Get: Mann, Morris & one of the following - Kennard or Covington

I wouldn't do the Covington deal. He doesn't appear to have anything left in his tank, but I'd be tempted to do the Kennard deal. The only issue is who would be our starting PG.

Mann's extension kicks in next year. I'm not sure how that affects the numbers. Would you really not do the Covington trade? No brainer IMO.

The Clippers are looking to upgrade Reggie Jackson, so I would assume they want him included. He's on a one year deal, but not a very appealing player. I envision a 3rd party getting involved. It seems unpopular hear, but I still think there's a lot of "pros" to getting Conley in here. It ensures some continuity into next season and keeps a sizeable salary slot. He's much more of a floor general than Dlo, with better defense, even if it has declined. And the connection with Rudy is hard to ignore, too.

Good point about Jackson, Tim.

I agree. Honestly this is a pretty good return for Kyrie on an expiring deal. DFS is a pretty valuable complimentary player and Dinwiddie lands back in Brooklyn and they got some draft picks? Sounds pretty good to me.

As for Dallas Kyrie and Luka are both high usage guys but they also both are shooters. I guess Kyrie has been healthy enough to play the last few playoffs but I still don't trust him to be available when it matters. Meanwhile they have to replace DFS who was 3rd on the team in MPG. Morris can help some there.

While I would embrace most Russell deals that bring back Terrance Mann, I question why the Clippers would want that. They have stated that they have an interest in upgrading at guard. Mann has been the starting point guard for several games. Does anyone think the Clippers would consider replacing Mann with Russell in the starting lineup an upgrade? Mann is a lockdown defender, a reliable 3-point shooter, and doesn't turn the ball over. I'd be delighted if the Clippers preferred DLo to him, but I'd also be very surprised.

No, just a good, solid, improving player who would give us some of what we lost with Vando in terms of toughness.

Yeah, as much as I like Mann's game and despite his comments that he's comfortable at PG, I don't know that he is exactly what we need at PG. I'm not sure what our game plan would be at PG with a Mann/Dlo deal. JMac? Not sure.

I guess that's why I'm with Tim in preferring a deal for a true PG, like Conley. I understand the "past his prime" concerns, but at least he's had a "prime"! His assist to TO ratio this season is elite, and that's what we need to unlock the offensive firepower of the other 4 starters.

In like a 12 month span, harden, Durant, and now kyrie requesting trades, with Durant being the only one who (so far) hasn't moved on. Durant is so elite off and on ball that it seems like he's the ideal star to pair up with a ball dominant star (like he did in a gsw jersey). It will be interesting to see how Luka and kyrie co- exist and whether kyrie signs a deal there.
