I still think the KAT/Gobert pairing is vulnerable to certain kinds of schemes. Finch is simply going to have to have the guts to bench one of these guys in crunch time in certain situations like he did with Gobert in Dallas.

We need to continue working on the plans for Gersson Rosas's statue for drafting Ant and Jaden, who literally might be the only two guys on the roster that can't ever be played or schemed off the floor. I guess Jaden can do it to himself with foul problems (kinda like KAT), but matchups will never be the reason.

1) let's be patient with Kat he is traditionally a slow starter so I am guessing it is going to be clunky to start.

2) In 832 possessions with Gobert and Kat on the floor together the wolves had a defensive rating of 108.2 what is in the 95th percentile of lineups. The numbers say those 2 worked defensively together.

3) The wolves offense was really bad with Kat/Gobert on the floor together but in the 21 games. Here is how much people were shooting from 3. Dlo: 8% worse, Rivers:15% worse, Jaden 3% worse, Forbes a career low, Kat was shooting a career low for 3. I think the offense can work itself out.

I'm excited to see how this goes. Kat is really freaking good and I'm ready

I agree, Kek.

Finch should not be benching KAT situationally. You don't bench him any more than you would bench Jokic. Benching Gobert situationally makes sense as it did in the 4th quarter against Dallas, but that simply underscores why TC shouldn't have given up what he gave to get him and why (like DLO) he shouldn't be under a max contract with this team.

Well, KAT is no Jokic. He passed KAT up a number of years ago on both ends of the court.

I do agree that Gobert is far more likely the guy to get benched, especially when teams go 5-out. But I could see a situation where let's say offensively a team goes with a big Center (like Embiid for example) and then surrounded by four wings/guards that can all move and shoot. I could potentially see toggling Gobert and KAT on defense and offense, where there are timeouts or stoppages between possessions.

Meh...KAT frustrates me to no end...but he's highly talented and seems to have a good work ethic.

We moved too soon on the Gobert deal to "put us over the top." We needed to be nearer the top to get over it, and that was going to require time

I would need a LOT in return for KAT. Sacramento could be a good trade partner for KAT

Before we commission that Rosas statue, let's not forget that he passed on Jaden McDaniels to draft something called a Leandro Bolmaro. He got lucky with Jaden still being there. I was imploring him to take Jaden in Bolmaro's spot.

As much as I like to champion my pre-draft Brandon Clarke and Tyrese Haliburton love... or even my Bolmaro hate...

... I also disliked the Jaden McDaniels selection.

I finally figured out what FNG means. I guess I'm a little slow.

It also would have been nice if Rosas hadn't had such a blind spot for adding another player taller than 6'9". We might not have had the right contracts to make it happen but imagine getting Jarrett Allen and Prince for a 1st and 2nd round pick like the Cavs did. The Cavs also had a a bunch of bigs at the time.
