I'm on vacation so I'll be brief.
This is not the direction I would have gone in.
They decided that Rudy Gobert was as good as it was gonna get as far as adding talent around Ant. Either Tim Connelly is dead wrong about this or that speaks volumes about who this team can attract.
Not a fan of this move. I get zigging while others zag, but God help us.
Rudy Gobert to the Timberwolves
Re: Rudy Gobert to the Timberwolves
Woah. Big time play. A lot to give up, but we just got the best defensive big in the league to pair with KAT and they compliment each other pretty dam well.
The new Twin Towers in the the Twin Cities.
PS. I am going to miss the draft threads on this forum for the next 10 years.

Omg this is an atrocious and terrible deal. Nobody would have bid this much for him. Just insanity. Literally with Kessler this is 5 1st rounders. Toss in Beasley and Bev for good measure. This is insane.

Well...this is where Connelly can show his stuff. Find more value in cheap players etc. I guess they could use some depth at PG now. I guess Nowell has a role now. Lol

Timmy getting paid $8 million to make garbage trades like this. Geez, I might be done with this team as I don't think I'll ever live to see them win anything. Go Warriors!
Ironically, this year's Timberwolves team is easily the best accumulation of talent in the franchise's history. Maybe don't jump off the wagon yet.
Navigating the salary cap will certainly be problematic in the future, and dealing four first-round picks -- five, if you include Walker Kessler -- isn't easy to accept, but they're a top-four team in the Western Conference right now. Let's see what happens.
I just can't. They gave up effectively FIVE first round picks in assets at least for him. No way in hell he's worth that much. 3 actual picks, Kessler and then Beasley & V8 who would also bring in some kind of late 1st in a trade themselves. I just do not get this at all. I'm on the "this is the worst trade them made since at least pre Butler" side of this.

For this, you might as well get an angry flaky KD

Re: Rudy Gobert to the Timberwolves
Rudy Gobert's Salary:
2022-23: $38.2M
2023-24: $41.0M
2024-25: $43.8M
2025-26: $46.7M
Karl-Anthony Towns' Salary:
2022-23: $33.8M
2023-24: $36.0M
2024-25: $48.9M
2025-26: $52.8M
2026-27: $56.7M
2027-28: $60.6M
Minnesota now has $463-million allocated to these two. That's absolutely wild.

Re: Rudy Gobert to the Timberwolves
I actually like the addition of Gobert, but have two big concerns:
1) How are we going to defend the 3?
2) How in the fuck is DLO still on this roster? And now we have no Point guards other than him. I sure hope this is a precursor to another deal.
