Julius Randle

Post by Lipoli390 »

Last summer he was considered one of the worst contracts in the NBA. But now 50 games into this season, he's played in 49 of those games while averaging 24.6 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists on a team that's 4 games over .500 and not particularly talented. Compare what Julius has done to what we've gotten out of our two max-salary bigs, KAT and Rudy. I suspect that Beasley and Beverley would have been enough to get Randle and at least one future 1st-round pick and one future 2nd.

Sure maybe but who knows. It would have been damn risky acquiring Randle and who knows how it would have worked. Do the wolves really need another high usage player so is bad at defense (Knicks are a really bad defensive team with Randle but they are elite offensively). He might of fixed some of the rebounding issues but wolves added one of the best rebounding players in the NBA this year and they still have the same issues.

Props to Randle for having a great bounce back season I just don't think he works here much.

only one problem:

the reason why it woulda been so easy to get him is because Knicks fans even now wouldn't mind getting rid of him. If he put up these type of seasons year in, year out, they'd love him, but last season he was awful. Even this year, he's done really well, but fans attribute his success to signing Jalen Brunson and finally solving PG.
