Minutes Allocation

Post by KiwiMatt »

Assuming there are no more significant moves this off season besides rounding out the roster what would your positional minutes allocation be? Here's mine:

PG - Russell (30) / McLaughlin (12) / Nowell (6)
SG - Edwards (36) / Nowell (12)
SF - McDaniels (30) / Prince (18)
PF - Towns (24) / Anderson (24)
C - Gobert (30) / Towns (12) / Reid (6)

I think that's a solid guesstimate. I could see Prince and/or McDaniels playing some PF next to Gobert for stretches.

I think that's probably about right. I think the mail change I would make is allocate more like 34mpg for Towns and Edwards. I think they will try and do what they can to keep those guys from playing as many minutes. I think they will want to keep Russell's minutes at that 30mpg also but it may be 31. If the season goes really well they may be able to have the top players play even fewer minutes than I have suggested and you have posted here. Nap is a guy that needs to perform reasonably well when he gets a shot if he wants to earn a little more time. I think there might even be a few chances for him to get a few minutes next to Gobert with the right matchups but again he is gonna have to play well to get a shot.
