High usage players

Post by Porckchop »

The belief is these type of players and the offenses built around them won't lead to succes. While I'm not in complete disagreement with this opinion, it's hard not to question why Doncic and a roster made up of lesser talent will more likely have a better record than a Wolves team comprised of the 4 maybe 5 next most talented players between the two teams. Records are similar right now but no one is doubting Luka will take that squad to the playoffs and when he does no one will want to play them becuz his individual High usage game can dominate a series. He's shown that.

Not sure where you got this from Pork. I think Dallas has already proven they can be successful building around Doncic. And Houston was very successful building around Harden. Now if you define success as reaching the NBA Finals, I think that is where some of us have pointed out the flaws of such a heliocentric offense. And these guys are/were EXTREMELY high usage. Every team has higher usage players, but these two are outliers.
