Pat Bev coming back
Jake Fischer is reporting that Pat Bev has a burning desire to return to the wolves and wants to be bought out if he is traded

I think it would be a cool story if Patrick Beverley returned to Minnesota, and he might be able to help with leadership/accountability type stuff, but he's pretty much cooked as a player. He still grades out alright defensively, but his shot has continued to decline and I don't see it coming back with a Wolves jersey on. We might need to move on.

If he wants to come back and can engineer a buy out, the Wolves should absolutely sign him. You might be right that his shot has departed permanently, but that's not necessarily true and there's no way of knowing. His defense is still there and he'd likely bring some much needed moxie to this team.

Patrick Beverley can be our Udonis Haslem.

Id take a pat bev that cant shoot in the 4th over Nowell. He's in basketball hell right now on that Lakers team. If we could get him we kind of half to. A player wanting to orchestrate a buy out to the Wolves sounds crazy unless it was ceremonial like the KG thing.

This franchise traded a 26-year old Thaddeus Young for that sort of ceremonial thing. Flip Saunders, man...

Yes this franchise is crazy. Which is why they are definitely going to sign Pat Bev.

How dare you diss Flip. He was the best GM the Wolves had by far. Second best was Milt Newton. By the way, Flip made one move I didn't like (Payne), but otherwise he was 10 times better than the rest of the combined idiots who made personnel moves, including your mancrush Tibby.

To be fair... Austin Rivers has been getting more and more minutes recently. 20+ mpg...
Is Beverly even at his 2022 form really that much worse offensively?

I'd argue that either Kevin McHale or (gasp) Gersson Rosas hold a more valid claim to that title, though it's also not saying much given this organization's history.
Flip Saunders was actually a pretty terrible front office executive if you look at all of his transactions in totality, but that doesn't mean it was all bad. Drafting Karl-Anthony Towns and Zach LaVine stand out as positives. He's also the hometown hero type who unfortunately passed away early, which means criticizing him is a touchy subject. I get it.
Also... what exactly did Milt Newton do for the Timberwolves? Interesting name drop given his... resume, if we can call it that.
