Did I miss something?
Although I do not write much in this forum, but for about twenty years I really enjoy reading your opinions about our beloved T-Wolf in this forum.
What a great year we (T-wolves fans) are having - Enjoy it!
It's weird that no one opened a thread for celebrating Towns' victory in the three-point contest (Auctually, it was fun!) or just talking about the the All Star weekend.
It seems that you also took an All Star break ...

Nice to see you here Eitan. I have really enjoyed this season for Towns. We all hate the whining, but I feel like he has really stepped up his play and is our MVP. It great to be a wolves fan right now.

Re: Did I miss something?
I enjoyed All-Star weekend -- mainly the three-point shooting contest and the All-Star game, but everything else was underwhelming.
Karl-Anthony Towns made me proud by winning his competition. I just didn't get around to posting about it here. I knew if he could just get out of the first round that he'd have a good chance of winning. People don't understand how difficult it is to come off the bench cold and shoot like that. After Towns got 22 and advanced to the final round I felt good about his odds. And then coming out with a score of 29 really put the pressure on his opponents. That was awesome.
To be honest, I'm still trying to shake the disappointment of this team sitting on their hands through the trade deadline. Obviously, I don't agree with it even though I can understand the reasons for doing what they did. It's just zapped a little bit of my enthusiasm. Relying on Malik Beasley down the stretch and into the playoffs seems like a recipe for disaster. I can already see him going 2-12 from the field and 0-8 from three in a play-in game against one of the Los Angeles teams.

Thanks guys, I'm just as excited as you are this season.
There's a feeling that on a given day we can beat any team in the league, and it reminds me of the 2004 team.
Is Anthony Edwards injured? Knees?
In recent games he has looked like his own shadow.

I think if I really thought we could go on a long run in the playoffs, I too would have been disappointed at the lack of activity. But we're just not a contender yet, nor would we become one by adding a rotational piece. I'm fine with keeping the assets we have until the summer and then maybe try to make a bigger splash. You've mentioned your chagrin several times, I'm curious why it was so disappointing to you. What were you hoping they would accomplish at the deadline?

I hoped they would have improved the roster for the final leg of the regular season while being better suited for a playoff series. I think a meaningful acquisition would have given them a much better chance of leaping either Dallas or Denver for a top-six seed. I think a meaningful acquisition would have given them a better chance of upsetting either Memphis or Utah in the first round, which was a realistic possibility. I think it's possible to play the long game while also improving in the short-term. We have tangible examples of other organizations doing exactly that. It doesn't have to be one or the other.
Also, chagrin is the wrong word choice. I'm simply disappointed that they didn't pull the trigger on reported offer(s) that would have made the team better. I think it's unfortunate that multiple teams in the Western Conference improved their rosters significantly without sending much out in return. Teams got better and Minnesota is basically gambling that Malik Beasley and parts don't suck as the pressure mounts.
You're certainly free to disagree with me. Staying pat wasn't the worst thing this organization could have done, but I do think it was a missed opportunity. It's not a sure thing that this team is this close to a top-six seed next year, although we all hope they will be. And get this, the reasonable trade targets at the deadline would have helped not just this year, but next year.

I don't necessarily disagree with you. I would have liked to have seen us get better at the deadline. I just don't think our time has come yet. So it's hard to be too upset at not making a move.

Sore knees and then an ankle injury just before the break. He definitely didn't look like himself for most of February (with the exception of an eruption against Indiana). Let's hope he got plenty of rest over the ASB.
As for the all-star festivities, I haven't paid attention to them for literally a couple of decades now. I don't even know if Ant played in the rising stars game (??). And I learned about KAT winning the shooting contest the day after it happened. Good for him - I'm sure he digs the recognition.
Re: Did I miss something?
Watching Curry jack up 27 threes as the opposition stood casually by isn't that impressive. I'm sure he knocked down the same percentage in practice. Seems a bit scripted goin in. Where's the competitive spirit in that? Even in Jordans last event there was defense . KG earned the MVP in that game , I doubt Jordan wanted anything handed to him.

Re: Did I miss something?
I think us NOT talking about All Star Weekend gimmicks shows just how far the organization has come.
There's no reason to get super excited about JR Rider dunking or LaVine dunking or Love or Towns shooting three pointers or somebody being in a rookie game.
There are bigger fish to fry.
Finally.
