Just got back from the game: Game report- Boring game most of the game, offense struggled to get open shots for most of the game, lots of fumbled balls, Jaden McDaniels with the effort baskets keeping us in the game, and KAT taking over in OT, while doing a lot of complaining on offense after not getting the call (the usual). Yes, you all saw that so nothing new. Prior to the late 4th, the highlight of the game was the Minnesota Bachelorette was courtside and looking good.
When we were down by 8 with about 5 minutes left I turned to my buddy and said "I have no idea how the game is this close" as it really felt like we were being dominated. I think late it came down to all those 2nd/3rd/4th chances (Jaden got screwed on the tap back after the 3 missed 3-pointers and it was good to see coach back his guys and take the T there). When the Wolves got a 4 points lead it felt like they weren't going to lose from that point going forward, and fortunately, they didn't.

[Jon Krawczynski] D'Angelo Russell brought a ball to the press conference, said it was for the fans, who showed out tonight. "I called, they answered."
So from me and Hockey your welcome board :) lol

The amount of constant bitching on this board about KAT and his antics is absolutely absurd to me. I just don't get it. For fucks sake people.
Joel Embiid is a whiny little bitch, so are KD and LeBron. Chris Paul is for sure one as well. Luka and Trae are there too. Almost every single star playing this game is. So he's not Kawhi or Duncan. Most guys aren't. Get over it.
Enjoy what is one of the most talented players in this game play and be thankful he plays for this pathetic franchise for a few more years.

I do an I expect more.
I'm sorry it was in double digits tonight him walking back on defense to argue a call tonight.
The point is there even higher level he can achieve and he's already freakin good.

As jester mentioned, KAT continually walking slowly back on defense when he doesn't get a call isn't the type of play that championship teams do. KAT is super talented, and he's the reason we came back and won in OT tonight, but those possessions where he slacks (and it happens a LOT) creates a 4 on 5 situation on defense, and makes for easy transition points the other way. You might be able to get away with that against many teams in the regular season, but you aren't getting away with that against top playoff teams.
It puts a cap on how good this team can become, unless it changes.
Not to turn this into a complain about KAT segment, but one thing I also don't love is how emotionless he is at times. He hit a dagger type of 3 to put the Wolves up by 4 late in the 4th, whistle blows, and he looked like he was ready to fall asleep while walking back to the bench. Contrast that with a guy like KG who would be shooting energy into his teammates after a play like that. Again, minor gripe and I'm not someone who thinks we should trade him, but I just want him to be better at the things that don't take basketball skill but make the difference in a game/playoff series.

While I understand the sentiment, I firmly disagree with you here. Karl-Anthony Towns looked stone-faced after the go-ahead three-point shot (this is the one I think you're referencing before the Hornets timeout) for two reasons.
Firstly, I think he was upset with himself for missing the same exact shot just prior to that one -- the one where Patrick Beverley was in the right place at the right time for the put-back layup. Towns seems like a guy that's unusually hard on himself. Sometimes it zaps the joy from his play, but ultimately that attitude has helped him become a tremendous basketball player.
Secondly, the game was far from over as we would later find out. There was still way too much time to celebrate or high-fiving all around. As the great Kobe Bryant once said, "What's there to be happy about? The job's not finished." A younger, more juvenile Towns may have lost his mind jumping around after that shot, but this version of Towns has lost more than enough close games to know not to get too hyped up until the final horn.

Hey Yosimar! Long time no see. Hope life is treating you well.
I think the reason fans, including myself get frustrated with Kat is we realize his ability. He is so close to becoming a top 10 guy in this league and little things feel like they are holding him back. Also he is no longer the shiny new toy. He is the longest tenured wolves player so the newness/hope has worn off and some disdaine happens (not saying that is fair or correct) especially when the wolves have not won with Kat in the past (not his fault).
In the end though Kat is by far the wolves best player. Wouldn't even think about trading him. He is so close to being a top 10 guy and even though I will bitch in the GDT I'm so happy Kat is a wolf
Re: GDT: Minnesota vs. Charlotte
Yeah, I think what Kek says sums up my stance on KAT as well. He could be a top 10 player if he cleaned up some totally preventable things (silly no look passes when uncalled for, slow getting back in transition, really bad offensive fouls that are obvious calls for the officials). The complaining probably wouldn't be looked upon as dimly by folks here if he cleaned up these other areas of his game.
But he is what he is and that's still our best player. We ultimately need Anthony Edwards to assume the mantle of best player if we want to be a real contender, so that's the guy we need to expect more growth from since KAT is pretty much who he is at this point.

Re: GDT: Minnesota vs. Charlotte
If Towns played like he did tonight he can bitch and moan and take plays off all he wanted. I think bigger than all the bitching for me is that so many times he becomes a shrinking violet when the game matters. I literally cant think of another Towns game to compare this one to, which sums up my feelings about it. If he stays aggressive and makes plays that affect winning, bitch away.
