This is a huge buy-low opportunity for Dallas. Dinwiddie is an awesome fit there.

They are buying low on Bertans also. That contract is bad but if he gets back to being a elite 3 point shooter again he will be worth a decent chunk of that contract. This one came out of nowhere though. Meanwhile the Wizards get someone more exciting if somehow healthy than I would have expected. Maybe it works out for both teams...or shuffle the deck chairs. Either way it's interesting so I approve! Lol

Maybe they think Dinwiddie is forever damaged? He's been bad. And Bertans has gotten progressively worse since signing his deal. Porzingis could be the best player in the trade by quite a bit and he has a slightly shorter contract to move on from.

It's a buy low extravaganza.

Wolves are standing pat. A lot of discussions but never could land on the right fit. Good team chemistry, now they will finish this season out and see how far they can go.

Good. Nothing wrong with maintaining continuity. We aren't in a contending window yet anyway.

I'm going to assume Gupta didn't have the power to make moves. Probably the best trade of the day for wolves was the mavs trade. That sure felt we need to retool this team and were not a top 6 team type trade.

I do have one question though. Didn't we have get rid of some salary to be under the tax line? As I'm trying to learn I don't know how that stuff works.

It's embarrassing that Sachin Gupta couldn't even acquire a reserve big. I can understand not wanting to mess up a good thing, but it's been obvious that this team needs more size at the center position. Those types of moves don't take much and Minnesota has three upcoming second-round picks that they could have used to get a deal done.

I'd like to have seen Robin Lopez land here for insurance. Nathan Knight has looked rough and out of his element when I see him. He got a defensive three second violation yesterday four seconds after entering the game. I don't see how he's playable in any playoff scenario.

But I don't know the intricacies of the cap enough to know how feasible that was... nor if Lopez even wants to leave his year-long unlimited access Epcot Center pass behind.

The Mavericks will release center Moses Brown to create the roster spot necessary to complete their trade. Unfortunately, the Wolves likely don't have enough room under the luxury tax threshold to scoop him up. Not like they would anyways.

I hope that's what Sachin Gupta tells ownership this summer when they're searching for their next President of Basketball Operations.
