Carter Jr?

Naz/Prince/layman and 2 2nds for Carter Jr and ross?

That would be an intriguing deal for Minnesota, but it isn't nearly enough for Orlando, in my opinion. I also don't think it achieves the goal the Wolves should have by adding a tweener forward type.

I think I would take Ross out of the deal and make it Naz plus Filler plus those 2nds for Carter Jr. I don't think that would be enough for Olando especially since he is signed to a pretty reasonable deal. Wait since he signed and extension he is gonna be hard to even acquire right?

I think out of our young guys he's the most expendable and this team doesn't need a Kat lite as it's second center. I know he was only here for short while but I rather have Monroe get ting the back up mins instead of Reid.

I have had the same thing in my mind also. There are 2 things I will add to your thoughts.

1. If you lol up Naz stats this year the only issue is his shooting percentages. He actually has a career higher block rate this year and generally his per 36 numbers are still intriguing. He is a flawed guy and yes the fit for him might not be good but I think in general he is likely still a reasonably valuable NBA rotation player.

2. What will his next contract be? Nobody knows. If he ends up leaving for nothing that will kinda suck. It's certainly possible that he gets more than what the Wolves are willing or able to afford. Like Cam said some teams might be better off just signing him. On the other hand his restricted rights with a likely low cap hold would have value also.

3. If the Wolves trade Naz they need to have some way to add a center to the roster. That means either getting one back in the trade, acquiring one in some other trade or having opened up enough space to sign a guy without going Ober* the Lux tax.

Overall the idea of trading Naz is getting value for him and like you said maybe getting a guy that fits and helps more. Idk if there will be good enough offers out there. What would ne really nice is that if the Wolves could just sign a vet big that could play some night and not others. Fortunately next offseason unless something changes this should be easily accomplished. Maybe at some point it will ne late enough in the season the Wolves can sign a guy like this because they have enough space.

According to ESPN's Zach Lowe on Thursday's episode of his The Lowe Post podcast, sources have indicated that "basically everyone's available" in Washington, although he hasn't heard anything regarding the Wizards shopping star guard Bradley Beal.

Lowe added that guard Spencer Dinwiddie and center Montrezl Harrell are the players he has heard mentioned most as potential trade candidates.

I still think this team should be focused on upgrading at the wing, but they also need more quality ball-handlers, shot-creators. With that said, I think Spencer Dinwiddie is a really intriguing buy-low candidate -- not just for the Wolves, but for teams around the league.

Dinwiddie's had a mixed season to this point, in my opinion. At first glance, he's severely underperformed, and I wouldn't disagree with that. But when the Wizards were at the top of the Eastern Conference to start the year Dinwiddie had a lot to do with that.

October/November: 14.7 PPG (41.4 FG%, 36.6 3P%, 88.5 FT%), 5.2 APG (1.6 TOV), and 5.1 RPG in 18 G (29.7 MPG)

December/January: 12.0 PPG (36.3 FG%, 26.6 3P%, 76.6 FT%), 6.2 APG (1.7 TOV), and 4.1 RPG in 21 G (31.4 MPG)

He's fallen off considerably the last couple of months, which is why he's even available, but when he's right, he's a three-level scoring guard that can chip in as a facilitator, rebounder, and defender in the backcourt. Still just 28 and signed through the 2023-24 season, I think he could be a sneaky good acquisition.

As for Minnesota, Dinwiddie's ability to get to the rim and finish or facilitate would be a welcome addition. I do think they should pursue various trade targets before they turn to him, but this would be someone that I could see being a really nice fit with the current pieces. I'd be comfortable offering Malik Beasley, Jake Layman, a conditional first-round pick (top-20 protected that turns into an additional second-round pick if not conveyed), and one second-round pick for Dinwiddie, assuming his medical evaluation checks out.

That's an interesting idea Cam. It hurts the Wolves shooting but I would say he is an upgrade overall from Beasley.

I was just looking at their roster and thinking Bertans was an interesting buy low guy then looked at the stats and his contract. Yikes what happened to him? If he is a bench scrub that contract is pretty brutal with 49 million left assuming he takes his player option. He looks like a future OKC Thunder player to me. They will rehab his value and get a 1st rounder back in a deal. Lol

Yeah, Spencer Dinwiddie is a far cry from Malik Beasley in terms of perimeter shooting, but I also think he is significantly better in nearly every other aspect of the game. They also have comparable contracts/salaries so it makes sense that they'd be exchanged for each other. Minnesota could conceivably play Dinwiddie as their sixth man, combo guard off the bench or insert him in the starting lineup and relegate the older Patrick Beverley to the bench. Either way, I think the Wolves get better on an educated gamble.

Not to mention, maybe you make this trade and then swing Taurean Prince and a second-round pick to San Antonio for Doug McDermott. That would definitely help with perimeter shooting.

I'll concede that it's more likely that Minnesota doesn't make any moves, but I think there are some below the radar deals they could make to get a lot better.

I think I would rather have Harrell.

We're still getting punked down low and KAT takes a beating nightly. Vando deserves all of his playing time but we need an alternative to Naz when we got to bang around. Someone else beyond Vando who regularly rolls to the hoop would be nice too.

Montrezl Harrell would be awesome in Naz Reid's role, and in tandem with D'Angelo Russell in the pick-and-roll, but I think the issues on the wing and in terms of capable ball-handlers are bigger issues right now. Basically, most of the bench needs to be upgraded.

James Ham, Kings Insider for ESPN 1320 and The Kings Beat:

"Sources have confirmed that the Kings still hope to build around the young backcourt pairing of De'Aaron Fox and Tyrese Haliburton. The key word is "hope" in that statement. With the season spinning completely out of control, nothing should be off the table.

Veterans Harrison Barnes, Buddy Hield and Richaun Holmes are all available via trade according to multiple sources."

Out of curiosity, which team says no?

Minnesota: Harrison Barnes, Richaun Holmes

Sacramento: Malik Beasley, Taurean Prince, Naz Reid, 2022 first-round pick (top-14 protected), and 2024 first-round pick (top-14 protected)

For me, I'd just target Barnes alone, but I can see why fans would have interest in Holmes as well.

Derrick White continues to be a player I have interest in for this Wolves team. Frankly, he's one of the best defensive guards in the league and he offers adequate scoring and facilitating on the offensive end -- albeit with an inconsistent perimeter shot. Minnesota needs to acquire more two-way players, yes, but especially ones that can contribute consistently in some capacity. White's defense translates every night and he's proven to be effective as a starter or as a reserve. Sprinkle in the fact that he's a combo guard capable of taking over lead guard duties in the case of running a second unit or spot-starting when a starter gets injured. There's a lot to like with White.

I'm curious about what San Antonio would trade him for, especially considering he's signed through the 2024 season. I would offer Malik Beasley, Leandro Bolmaro, and a first-round pick for White straight up. I'm sure some here would scoff at giving those assets up for White, but I think he fits everything Minnesota wants to do while being secured for the next three years below market value.

SAS likely takes that in a heartbeat. We still would need wing/big size though. But this trade does open up a roster spot.
