I hope our wives and girlfriends are on board with this sentiment ;-) . But yeah, let's do well in the NBA lottery too...can't wait for the Cunningham vs. Mobley thread to start up!

Dream on, FNG...ain't gonna happen this time  )

I'm not going to get my hopes up only to have my hope crushed in the end. I'm just hoping we don't end up with the 4th pick and that none of the Western Conference teams below us (Kings, Pelicans, Spurs, Warriors) jumps up into the top four.

Looking at the lottery list again today I noticed that the Bulls' pick might go to the Magic. I also noticed that the Bulls' pick is top 4 protected. That just made me even more disgusted with Rosas. I don't believe for a minute that the Warriors would not have ultimately agreed to top 4 protection. It would be just our luck to end up with the 4th pick in tonight's lottery.

Lip, I don't think we can end up with the 4th pick. It's either top 3 or at best 6 right? The lottery only determines the first 3 slots.

I believe that is correct. We either win the lottery and pick first, second or third, or Golden State has the 6th through 9th pick depending on how many teams behind us in the standings win the lottery.

Every lottery team is eligible for the 4th pick since it is now drawn for. The only pick the Wolves can't get is 5. The hope is that the Wolves aren't 4th since GS would get it there.

Cool and I stand corrected...we were using the old lottery rules, and Phenom is correct.

Lotto is to 4 now. Statistically the least probable though. We can't get the 5th pick

Further to kek's post since I was the purveyor of misinformation earlier today, here are the Wolves chances:

1st: 9%
2nd: 9.2%
3rd: 9.4%

Chance of keeping pick: 27.2%

Here are Golden State's possibilities:

4th: 9.6%
5th: 0%
6th: 8.6%
7th: 29.7%
8th: 20.6%
9th: 3.8%
10th: .2%

So there is a better than even chance that Golden State ends up with the 7th or 8th pick.
