"Minnesota is a very nice city."
I thought that was funny, but nothing too crazy here. Anthony Edwards answers some questions sent in by some fans on his new YouTube account. Unlike some guys, Edwards does seem personable in front of a camera. That in itself can be a good thing for his career. You can tell someone has probably mentioned a few wickets for him to hit whenever he talks about the Wolves and what he can provide to the team, but it's coming from a good place, I think.
Edwards says that he has talked to Karl-Anthony Towns and he basically told him to get ready for the upcoming season. There wasn't much detail there, but I'm just glad Towns reached out as I was skeptical of that weeks ago.
Edwards talked a lot about defense in that video, which is surprising considering he didn't play much of it at Georgia despite having elite physical gifts that can be used on that end. I'm sure he's aware by now that Minnesota has a surplus of scoring options including him and the volume of shots just won't be there nightly so he needs to try to impact the game elsewhere.
I mentioned in another thread that my expectations for Edwards are low in his rookie campaign. I just want improved scoring efficiency from last year to this year and consistent defensive effort. That's all I want from him in 2020-21 and then he can build on that going forward.

Am I the only one watching Patrick Williams and already thinking that he is "the guy" from this draft? I wonder sometimes if nba gms actually watch the prospects play...

Congrats to Kek on getting on the Edwards and McDaniels train early! Fun looking back....
While Wiseman may still develop into a great NBA player, the post-All Star break version of Edwards is about everything one could hope for from a rookie #1 pick and then some. Then there is McDaniels. Rosas may have just absolutely have nailed these two picks.

Hey, I was right for once! Haha. I do think it's funny that my 2 worries about our picks were does Edwards care and Mcdaniels being a hot head.
Edwards for sure cares, will he live up to the full hype idk but he shows he cares on the court. Then Mcdaniels was one of the least emotional guys I've ever seen play in my life. I commented when he 2 hand blocked someone last week it was the 1st time I've ever seen him smile.
Really happy we have a GM who seems like he knows what he is doing when it comes to evaluating young talent at least

The McDaniels "hot head" thing is still a mystery to me. Does anyone know what led to his transformation from serial technical drawer in college to calmest player ever? I think Jon K. may have done an article on this but I don't have a subscription to the Athletic.

I just found and read the article for March 3. Basically McDaniels has always been competitive but his one year at Washington he felt a lot of pressure (wanted to make his local team do well) and still wasn't used to the spotlight of being a top prospect. His mom says he is more of a chill guy.
What remember when I was digging through everything I could find on him there was a quote from an NBA vet from Seattle I can't remember if is was Jamal Crawford or someone else but they mentioned that he was a smart basketball player, very intelligent on the court and people would see it. We read guys hype people up before drafts etc but the way they said it and an actual NBA player that did know him well it felt like more legit. I had also seen some of that smart play doing winning things when I watched his college games. As a Wolf he just gets to fit in and do all that stuff. Fortunately he has that skill set. He has more to show offensively but not having to do that early may be good for his overall development.
As for the technicals...some of them were yelling after dunks...it wasn't like he was going super bonkers on people all the time or something. Still it seems he took something from a year of struggling and learned from it. That's a pretty big deal for a guy his age in the career he has chosen.

Not sure where to put this, but Dane Moore reports Jaden is definitely going to play in summer league. I hope they give him the ball and let him create offense for himself and others. He also said he patterns his game off of Kevin Durant and Tracy McGrady.

To go on that Finch in his final game press conference was saying he is super excited to work with Jaden on creating an extra couple dribbles to his game and possibly adding him in PnR action with him as the primary ball handler.

Good news on McDaniels participating in Summer League and Finch looking to help McDaniels expand his offensive game.
