The Knicks clinched the 4th seed in the East today with a win over the Celtics - the same team that beat the Wolves by double digits last night. The Knicks ended up 10 games over .500 with home-court advantage in the playoffs. Nice job, Thibs!

I know there have been multiple arguments about thibs these last few years. I think he is an elite coach but I'm happy we have Finch

The Wolves never played defense for This the way Knicks are playing it for him. I am happy we have Finch as well.

Blazers on pace for the win tonight which means Lakers and Warriors both in the play in tournament and playing eachother in the first game. This couldn't have worked out better. I hope Wiggins has one of his unexpected hot games and the Lakers get spanked. This may be better for me than us keeping our pick.

Lbj also left his game with a ankle injury. Don't know if he has returned but he is not 100%

The Thunder finally won a game. They knew they had a bottom three slot locked up, so they made more of an effort tonight. But the key was the Clippers decision to tank this one to avoid a potential first-round matchup with the Lakers. Kind of pathetic in my view.

Note that Moses Brown had 24 points, 18 rebounds and 7 blocks for the Thunder tonight. He's at the top of my list of young bigs with upside I'd like the Wolves to pursue via trade this offseason. Unfortunately, I don't see a realistic trade scenario to get him. But the Thunder's Tony Bradley might be more gettable. If only Culver had played well this season, he's be a potential trade piece to possibly land a Bradley or Brown.

With tonight's win, the Wolves finished in sole possession of the 6th worst record in the League. I consider that the next best thing to being in the bottom three. Credit the Wolves for going all out to win every single game. If there is such a thin as karma, the Wolves should end up with a top three pick. If not, let's hope it's the 7th or 8th pick.

I have an idea to curb late season tanking, resting, etc. Each team plays every team twice for the first 2/3 of the season. The remaining third depends on the standings. The top 10 teams face off against each other for their remaining games. This gives them a chance to ramp up for the playoffs and directly influence their seeding. You can't rest your best guys since you are playing OKC tonight. You are always playing the team chasing you or that you are chasing in the standings.

The middle 10 teams only play each other which means direct fierce competition for the final playoff spots and the bottom 10 face each other to guarantee that some of them will compile wins. To promote wins for the bottom third, the league could alter the lottery odds and set aside some number of combinations, say 100 combinations, and award them to the team that has the highest win percentage in the final third of season.

Sounds like expansion is about a done deal partly due to needing recoup losses from the pandemic from what I'm reading online today. Two new teams and the Wolves apparently being the top candidate to move East which would be glorious news!
