That floater of his makes him almost impossible to guard. I was really impressed at how easily he carved up the Sixers defense in the first half. He was dominant. But then they made an impressive rally themselves that fell just short. Could be a good series.

For how much shit the national media has given the Hawks for trading Luka this must feel good to be up 1-0 in the 2nd round and Luka can't get out of the 1st round again

No kidding. Good for the Hawks and Trae Young. No one has more swagger than Trae. this season, especially in the playoffs, his play has matched that swagger.

As much as I liked Luka I didn't think that trade was that bad because I thought Trae Young was going to be really good plus they got another draft pick. The Kings...that's a whole different story.

I thought in the "pick your young player to start a franchise with" Trae Young seemed a little under appreciated. It's good to see him get some love.

Well said, I'm in complete agreement with you.

Another recent thing that further lowered my low opinion of LeBron was his apparent decision for not get the Covid vaccine. He's a world class athlete in his 30s, so if he gets Covid it will likely be a mild cold. But he's in a position of leadership. Lots of people emulate him and many of those are far more vulnerable to the disease. But worse than his selfish decision to forego the vaccine was how coy and evasive he was in answering the question. He wouldn't say whether he received the vaccine or not, answering the question like a bad politician. It was pathetic. I would have had a modicum of respect for if he had simply fessed up and said he didn't get the vaccine because he wanted to avoid the side effects as he was preparing for the playoffs. I'd still see it as a selfish, ridiculous decision, but I'd have to respect the honesty.

Then there was the time he objected to Daryl Morey's criticism of China's human rights violations. Again, he was selfishly concerned about jeopardizing revenue that would further line his pockets. Consider his position there along side his sanctimonious comments on racial justice in this Country. He's the second best player of all time without question. But he's a world-class jerk in my view. It's more subtle with him than other jerks in professional sports, but it's no better.

Lip, agree with all of this, but that 2nd paragraph is straight truth. Is Lebron getting e-mails from Zuckerberg too?

I thought it was quite strange that Lebron wasn't vaccinated. I honestly didn't care enough to read more than the quotes from a few weeks ago. Idk if that makes him a jerk but it was quite weird. He can decide for himself what he thinks is best but I thought it would be a no brainer for him to get it. He did seem really evasive answering the question and maybe there is some sort of legit reason he didn't get it or whatever that would explain stuff but I agree with Lip that it all came off quite badly.

I would like to have seen the game and how it played out to see how I viewed Lebron leaving before the game was over but that does not sound good. I'm sorta cheering for the Suns to come out of the WC I think they may have a nice combination to make things interesting. I like the Jazz too but I wonder if they have the firepower on offense sometimes. As much as Chris Paul bothers me as a basketball player I think as a basketball player he ABSOLUTELY deserves to at least play in a Finals.

Monster - LeBron not only walked off the floor with 5 minutes left, he checked out well before that in the 4th quarter - not getting back defensively, not moving without the ball, etc. It was a bad look that you never would have seen from MJ or Kobe.

Thanks for the response with some. Ore details.

FWIW wasn't it the playoff series against the Mavs the year Dallas won the Championship that Kobe basically gave up in the final game of the series? The only guy that looked like they cared the 2 half of that game was Artest. If it's the game I am thinking of Dallas won by 36 sweeping the Lakers and it was highly enjoyable. :)

There were so many better examples that could have been used here. No idea why you picked Bryant.

2006 playoffs vs. the Suns was a very bad look for Kobe Bryant. He quit on his team.

Horford and Moses Brown to Celtics for Kemba and draft picks. I feel certain that OKC will turn Kemba into something. This trade could be good for the Celtics if Moses Brown ends up actually being a good player and/or they are able to use the salary space to end up with a good player later.

I'm a lifelong Celtics fan.

And I like Gordon Hayward and Kemba Walker. It's been kinda sad to see two of the few NBA players I actually dig flame out with my 2nd favorite NBA team, largely because of injuries and partly because of fit.

With Robert Williams and now Moses Brown... the Celtics can take two fliers on promising bigs... with a pretty solid mentor in Al Horford helping them along.

Hope Kemba's knees return to health, so he can resurrect his career a bit... wherever he ends up.

Jeff Teague, Kemba Walker, Ricky Rubio....all PGs that definitely took a pretty significant step back shortly after turning 30.

Lukas 22 years old so when I read criticism about another playoff exit ( 3 years in the league) I chuckle . Jordan didn't break thru and win his first title till he was 28.
Lukas playoff numbers are staggering. 38 pts or more in 7 of 13 games. Come on guys , why the hate? Lol

Luka has already been first team all NBA. Hes amazing, and by all accounts a diva. Fits right into the NBA landscape.

I remember Charles Barkley saying a few years back that the NBA has always been a young man's game but even more so recently. I think he's right. Players come into the League younger than they used to and I think they hit their peak at an earlier age before declining. There are exceptions like Chris Paul and some others. But teams tend to flourish now when their core elite players are in the 25-30 range. Back in the MJ era, I think that range was more 27-32.
