Here's one of the dumbest trade ideas I've ever seen. It comes from Bleacher Report's Greg Swartz:
New York Knicks Receive: No. 4 overall pick, C Richaun Holmes
Sacramento Kings Receive: No. 11 overall pick, 2023 first-round pick (via Dallas Mavericks), G/F Alec Burks, SG Quentin Grimes
According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, there are a number of teams trying to move up to the No. 4 spot to select Purdue guard Jaden Ivey. One of the teams he mentioned, the Knicks, has the assets to do so and has a glaring need at the point guard position.
Ivey would be an immediate starter with the Knicks, joining RJ Barrett in an exciting, young backcourt that packs a ton of offensive firepower. While not a true point guard, Ivey made a huge leap as a playmaker from his freshman to sophomore season and would have players such as Barrett, Julius Randle and Derrick Rose to help run the offense.
Picking up Holmes gives New York some insurance at the center position if Mitchell Robinson, an unrestricted free agent, decides to sign elsewhere.
For a Kings team that already has De'Aaron Fox and Davion Mitchell at the guard positions and benched Holmes in favor of Domantas Sabonis after the trade deadline, moving back seven spots in the draft is worth the extra goodies they'll pick up.
Sacramento gets an extra first-round pick in the process via the Mavs, a 2023 selection that's only protected 1-10 and will almost certainly convey next year. Filling out the wing is a must for the Kings, who get Burks and Grimes as shot-makers and defenders on the perimeter.
The Kings front office has made some bad moves, but even they wouldn't do this. Trading a quality PF in his prime, Holmes, along with the #4 pick and the chance to draft Jaden Ivey, Keegan Murray, Dyson Daniels or Bennedict Mathurin in exchange for for who? The 11th pick and Alec Burks and Quentin Grimes? OK, the Kings would get the Mavs' 2023 first round picks with only top 10 protection. But Dallas is going to be a playoff team next season! This is what happens when you turn a Knicks fan loose to speculate on possible trades. :)

I saw that also in the BR article.
In that same article they proposed a trade involving the wolves of Jermi Grant for Beasley, Naz and #19.

Yep. That was ridiculous also, but not as idiotic as the Kings-Knicks deal.

I Lip I'll do a super in depth breakdown of this deal because you put for the effort To post this thread. :)
This is how I look at this trade.
I think Holmes for Burks is a pretty even trade. The Kings are looking for more shooting and Burks could help them there for this year and he also is an expiring deal and the Kings move on from Holmes contract. I don't think Holmes is considered a PF in the NBA I think he is consider a center. This will keep his value down similarly to Christian Wood.
Kings dropping from 4 to 11 for a future first round pick from the Mavs and last year's 25st pick Grimes. I have no idea of Grimesis very good (or any good) but he had a solid rookie season statistically. He shot well from 3 and again the Kings are looking for shooting. Maybe the Kings value Grimes a solid prospect worth around a first round pick in value (theoretically) and they get another future first round pick. IF they aren't dying to draft one of the top 10 guys then this might not be a bad deal and of course that's if Grimes has any legit value. Plus they save salary in moving Holmes and having a cheaper draft pick. I have actually seen much dumber trades...again it depends on what the Kings value in this draft and the deal. I think it's possible the Kings could drop down and get one of the players they really like.
I personally think the Jeremi Grant deal is much more ridiculous. No way the Wolves give up 3 assets for potentially 1 season of Grant.

Good breakdown, Monster. I still think the Kings-Knicks deal is nuts from the Kings perspective. The more I think about it, the more I see how ridiculous the Jeremi Grant deal would be from the Wolves perspective. So you've moved me to considering both deals equally ridiculous. :)
