Love his toughness. A nice piece to bring back.

I think it's possible that the Wolves could have gotten him cheaper but I think getting him on what is essentially a 1 year deal is why he got 8 million. Besides the Wolves basically can afford to sign a guy they want for a couple extra million for Prince. They have plenty of room under the Lux tax and they have his bird rights. Let's say Prince has another solid season like he did this year and next year when teams are likely to have more money to spend that 8 million option might look appealing.

Cool - Good point about his toughness. Connelly and Finch have been crystal clear that they want to add toughness to the roster. They appear to view Kessler, Moore and Minott as tough. Bringing back Beverley and now Prince is consistent with their thinking.

So over the course of ONE day, you guys gone from suggesting every other player in the league to talking yourselves into the Wolves bidding against themselves for a guys who was a -17 in 65 playoff minutes spread over 5 games (with the team -8 in those 5 games when he was off the floor). What's the hurry? He clearly didn't think anyone with Caproom was going to make an offer, and he clearly didn't think he was getting anyone's MLE, so what was the hurry?

There is literally no downside to this deal. He was going to get at least 6.4 mil for the tax paying MLE. So the wolves paid him 1.6 million more to stick around then what he more than likely would if gotten on the open market. This contact also effects the MLE for the wolves none. They can still use the full MLE without going into the lux tax. Also if they just let Prince walk they don't get to spend that money elsewhere that 8 million is just gone or it becomes the mini MLE. Also Prince plays well and he gets his 8 million in 2023 and the wolves still have max cap space or he plays bad and they let him go and the wolves still have max cap space.
Literally no downside when it comes to cap space resigning Prince.

Great move. No downside here. I like how they're using the extra money they have this year to give themselves added flexibility next year. It's not rocket science, but it's the type of move that smart teams make. TP is a great guy to bring some toughness off the bench at a position of need.

I know he tries hard on defense and is decent to above average in that regard. He has a don't mess with me / us vibe to him and shoots well. I see him as a player that contributes to winning and his contract is a value that could return something and has almost no chance of burning the Wolves. I like this move, and am still hoping for a splash move that makes us think we might level up. Until then I think we are good with the potential to be great with the right player development, but one splash move and the hype train will be in full effect.

Solid deal for a solid vet. These 'tweener forwards that are willing defenders and can hit the open 3 are priced quite high in the open market. I think he's largely a net neutral in terms of his production on the floor, but overall a net positive as a team mate and building a culture.

I like Prince. The price tag seems a little high to me, but I'm not bothered by it and lean toward trusting this front office when it comes to cap management.
And it's always worth the time to enjoy Taurean's finest moment.

I love the cap management we're seeing from this front office. Their contract with Price leaves just enough room (with a little room to spare) to spend the full MLE on a free agent without exceeding the luxury tax threshold. One roster spot now to fill and a full MLE to use if they choose to fill that spot with a free agent. It doesn't get much better than that.
