Nba playoffs thread
Re: Nba playoffs thread
Celtics knock off Bucks. Heat and Celtics will be a great battle.
Re: Nba playoffs thread
Phoenix EVISCERATED by Dallas. I've never seen anything like that in a Game 7. And Dallas did it on the road! Credit to Luka, Kidd, and the front office for snagging Dinwiddie.
It's interesting.....Phoenix obviously had the best team during the regular season, but do they have anyone on their roster that is among the top 5 NBA players? How about top 10? Top 15?

The better team won that series for sure. The Bucks just didn't have enough juice without Middleton.
Do you think the Heat and Celtics will be close? The Celtics look like the team to beat to me and a favorite to win it all.
Re: Nba playoffs thread
I didn't see the Suns getting blown out this badly, but I expected Dallas to win the series. The Suns have looked highly vulnerable throughout the playoffs as they even struggled against the 36-win Pelicans. I think the Suns have hit their ceiling and I expect them to begin declining. The closest thing they have to a star player is Chris Paul, but he's 37 and of course not the player he used to be. Booker very good, but not close to a star-level player. Ayton is a notch below all-star level. They are well coached and play well together. But they're not built to win a championship. You don't win championships without at least one elite star-level player.
Re: Nba playoffs thread
I think we'll see Boston and Dallas in the NBA Finals.

Oddsmakers favor Boston, despite Miami having home team advantage. I expect the series to go at least 6 games and really don't know which team I favor. Both teams are stacked and while Boston might have an edge in that Lowry is hurt and expected to miss at least the first game, I'd give the coaching edge to Miami.
Re: Nba playoffs thread
That Celtics/heat series will be interesting. The heat don't have a player at the level of Giannis or KD but the heat don't have the weak spots like the bucks and nets do.
Can't believe I'm saying this but go Jimmy. (I listen to a ton of Bill Simmons and I'm sick of the Celtics, haha)

I know booker and CP3 really struggled but who would you say is 100% better then those 2 in the league.
Giannis, Kd, lebron, curry, luka, Tatum, embiid, jokic. Besides those 8 I think an argument can be made for booker or CP3 (I might be missing someone obvious)
The question is what do they do with Ayton. He's going to get the max from a team and it all be an overpay but they won't have cap space to replace him, their owner is super cheap and CP3 got a year older. Did their window close and is Ayton apart of the long term plans.
Also super interesting that the Suns took Ayton over Luka with their HC being luka international HC. A year later the HC was fired and is not an assistant on the mavs staff. They just took down the suns (I will say the suns not drafting Luka is going to go down as one of the worst picks of all time, Ayton is solid but I would put a lot of money on a 0 time all star with the suns)

Let's not forget the Kings didn't draft Luka. Ayton was a guy that was pretty hard to pass up his floor seemed really high. I was all in on Luka that year but I could understand someone picking Ayton over him. I actually liked Bagley but obviously not over Luka. My friend that's a Kings fan...I just tell him I know the feeling as the Wolves passed up Curry twice. It was a little bizarre like you said that the Suns had Igor Kokoskovas their coach and the Kings had Divac as their GM and both teams passed on Luka. There were reports Luka didn't want to play for the Kings but passing on him for that reason was stupid. Meanwhile the best player fell into the lap of the Mavs.
Some interesting stuff happened in that draft. The Suns paid 2 first round picks to get Mikel Bridges. Imagine if Philly had kept him and he was the guy he has become with the Suns. Imagine if the Suns didn't make that deal.
