Draft Lottery 2022
Draft Lottery 2022
Sucks that three of the top 4 are in the Western Conference.
Re: Draft Lottery 2022
That seems to happen often. I'm wondering with the Magic winning if it makes any bigs available from their roster.

Yeah it will be interesting to see what happens. If the Rockets select a big at 3 maybe they will be even more likely to deal Christian Wood.
It's more fun now that we know the draft order. Soon we will have all the combine information too.
I read this is the first time the Pacers have picked in the top 9 since 1989. That seems unbelievable.

Yeah. I think Carter Jr, Isaac and Bamba from the Magic and Wood from the rockets are gettable with the right offer. i personally would love to add Carter Jr. He would instantly fill a lot of needs for the team. He played well with bamba and that should translate better playing next to KAT. He is mobile enough to guard 4's and would be our best post defender. HE can shoot from midrange and added a 3pt game. Above average rebounder and lock in on a very nice contract.

I had the same thought as Phenom and I agree with you that the lottery results might enhance our chances of haven't a shot at getting one of Orlando's bigs or Christian Wood from the Rockets. Of course that assumes that Orlando and Houston draft Holmgren and Banchero rather than Jabari Smith or Jaden Ivey. I wouldn't be surprised if Orlando took Ivey or Jabari Smith. Same for Houston.
If the Magic draft Holmgren, then I don't see them having any interest in re-signing Bamba. In that case, the Magic would be inclined to just let him walk as a RFA and a sign-and-trade opportunity with the Wolves would probably be very attractive to them. But I'd like to know more about what makes Mo tick. He seemed to have a breakout season, but will it last? Why didn't the Magic extend him? I wonder whether Bamba is really committed to the game.

Idk what the situation is with Orlando and Bamba but he is now a RFA which is a pretty good spot for Orlando. There is very few teams with cap space this year so who is gonna be the team that's gonna make an offer for Bamba that Orlando is gonna be like? Nope you can just have him. Instead with so few teams able to sign a guy for more than the mid-level they are in a good position to leverage for a sign and trade. Of course depending on what they do in the draft they may just agree to a deal with Bamba before FA even starts.

They could just let him walk. They may wanna preserve cap space for next year. They have clear a glut of players anyway, so adding more of it might not be of interest to them.
If someone wants to offer MLE money to Bamba, given what they'll have, they won't feel too bad if Bamba just signs and they let him go. Maybe they'll even renounce his rights. Carter's not going anywhere though.
