Yep. The medical science is amazing now. I think of NFL running backs getting knees replaced and coming back in one year when it used to be career ending. Same with Baseball and Tommy John. But bad knees on big men in NBA still makes me nervous. This was the first report I noticed about his knee issues.

Our daughter-in-law's parents are good friends with a former orthopedic surgeon who opened up a business providing platelet rich plasma PRP and stem cell injections. Thanks for sharing Lip! I was quite active until about a year ago. I have been a life long runner, regular weight lifter and played sports when I was in school. I found out last year, I tore my meniscus, but I also have a patellar femoral issue. I have avoided surgery since I don't think my meniscus can be repaired. I might have to look into this PRP injection in the future. I also just recently injured my shoulder doing weight lifting and so if that won't heal on its own, maybe PRP would help my shoulder. Again, thanks again for sharing as this might be perfect for me.

I didn't have the patellar issue you have. But like you, my meniscus couldn't be repaired. So the only surgical option was removal. Our family friend warned me that I'd be pain free initially, but that I would develop arthritis in that knee within 5 years. I did a lot of research, which confirmed what he told me. So he strongly recommended against removal, which is the most common surgery for a torn meniscus. I can't say whether it would work for you, but based on my experience I would definitely recommend it.

The more I watch these playoffs the more I appreciate Kat. Dude is so good, if Ant reaches Kat level wolves are title contenders. Kat biggest weakness is not aesthetically pleasing to watch but in terms of on the court talent so happy Kat is on the wolves.

Hopefully it's just a precautionary thing. I remember Kobe getting those treatments in the summer when you had to come over here to Germany to get them.

Sounds like we could open an infirmary ward. I'm 8 weeks after an ACL replacement surgery in which they also repaired the meniscus. It's actually my second ACL replacement on this knee. I also partially tore the hamstring muscle a couple weeks ago right behind the knee, I guess because it wasn't strong enough yet (they took the tissue for the new ACL out of the hamstring--the first time I had donor tissue). Nobody suggested PRP or stem cells for me here, though I was kind of hoping they would!

Mostly agree, although I think Ant needs to be ever better. But I agree we absolutely need KAT and he is extremely valuable. And the analogy I go back to is Morant. Jah was mostly contained during the series against the Wolves. But his mere presence put a thumb on the scale of our defensive scheme, which opened up the floor for Desmond Bane to be Klay Thompson 2.0.

KAT has a similar impact offensively. Opposing teams need to spend a ton of time scheming against him, which creates opportunities for others. He doesn't need to get 25 or 30 every playoff game to impact a series. But he does need a fellow star (most likely Ant) and guys that can catch, shoot, and/or finish.
