To that end, an NBA executive just namechecked one of the league's ultimate lockdown defenders -- who also happens to be a career 38% three-point shooter -- as a player Miami has designs on prying from his current team. "The Heat would love to get Patrick Beverley. The Timberwolves, obviously, they love what he brought last year, but if they could sell high, they might be willing to give him up. They have a new regime [ex-nuggets president tim connelly] there, so they can look at things a little more realistically."

Did you read all the way to the end where it seems this league source put forth a possible trade where the Wolves would apparently be lucky enough to land Duncan Robinson? Whoever that is can seriously STFU or I congratulate them on a FANTASTIC troll job. Lol
I think if the Wolves trade Beverly it has to basically be a no brainer. Not because he is absolutely untouchable but it just doesn't make sense to deal a guy like that unless you get something really good. He is an aging vet on a 1 year deal so it could makes sense to deal him but we would have his bird rights at the end even if his next contract is less money per year. Connelly coming in does make a Beverly deal is a little more feasible.
I didn't see that, Monster. That's hilarious. Watching Duncan Robinson play defense is one of the ugliest sights you'll see. I agree that Beverley is tradable, but I'd be very reluctant to deal him. And obviously there is no feasible deal possible with Miami. This is the first off-season in a long time when I don't want the Wolves to trade any of their current roster players. I think the Wolves should be open to trading Beasley, DLO and/or Beverley as well and some lesser players like Naz, Nowell and/or Bolmaro. But I'd only want the Wolves to trade any of those guys for assets/players that clearly make the team better in the long run. And I'd be particularly reluctant to trade DLO, Beasley or Beverley to a Western Conference rival.

I have a hard time finding a good trade dealing with Pat Bev. I want Beverly over a lot of role players. Then pat bev won't bring in a big piece.
I don't think the kings would do this but it is rumored the kings want win now pieces. Would you do Pat Bev for Davion Mitchell? Would you do Pat Bev, Beasley and #19 for #4?
If the Heat wanted Beverly last year they could have had him right? All they needed was a couple expiring deals to send to Memphis...assuming Miami was on Beverly's list. Lol Miami sent their expiring deal in Dragic to acquire Lowry. Hard to argue that although they have up other assets to make that deal. Unless Pat Rilely works some magic (he has done it before) there isn't a current deal that makes sense unless some team out there wants to pay Duncan Robinson around 75 million the next 4 years and Miami didn't trust him to play much in the playoffs. Some of that was because they were able to unearth 2 more guys out of nowhere. Maybe the Kings will want Robinson. They can use all the shooting they can get.
Sure those are the type of no brainer deals I would do but I have little hopes of someone offering that type of deal for Beverly.

If you thought that was funny, I'm pretty sure you didn't go back and read it or you might have died from laughter. The source suggested the Wolves needed to and a future 1st round pick and maybe Vanderbilt and Miami would throw in some young bench guy.
For as much as Pat Bev has added to the locker room, I'm not sure there's anyone on the roster who could pick up where he left off (which is actually something to monitor, because this team can't take on KAT's personality again). Also, Connelly would conceivably trade Pat Bev and D'Lo to wind up with what? Wouldn't be the first time we hired a POBO only to hate everything about what he inherited, but Pat Bev is far from the chopping block.

Yeah, they need to keep looking for the junkyard dog types because Bev is going to be running on fumes soon. We've got him for one more year, but I fear age and wear and tear may make his bark louder than his bite.
