Wolves vs Rockets GDT: KG sighting?
Hearing KG will be in attendance tonight, won't see him get to play but I still expect us to play FIRED up basketball. Let's make it 5-2 in our last 7 games tonight!

Re: Wolves vs Rockets GDT: KG sighting?
Bloop may be citing Youngblood's Saturday article where he said KG was going to join the team Monday, which I then extrapolated to mean he would be in Houston...not sure what else it could mean if Youngblood was correct, because the Wolves will be in Houston all day today.
Today he said Garnett would practice for the first time Tuesday, which again doesn't mean he's not in Houston, because today is just a shootaround.
My guess: Youngblood miswrote that Saturday statement, and KG joins the team tomorrow at practice. Because if he is in Houston, he should be playing.

I thought Flip had said KG would arrive in Minneapolis today for his physical, etc. Youngblood is less reliable than Zgoda. It didn't instill me with much confidence whenyou cited him as your source...

Things I'm looking for tonight.
1) Pek has to bounce back with a better game. We know he struggles with length, but with Howard out, he needs to dominate undersized Joey Dorsey. Dorsey isn't Alex Len...he only has 1 block in his last 5 games. We need 25-12 from Pek
2)Rubio might catch a break if Beverly can't play because of the flu. He needs to completely dominate Prigioni and Shved
3) I assume Flip will go with Wig on Harden and Martin on Ariza. I want to see the same kind of effort on both sides of the ball from Kevin that we saw against the Suns. And Wiggins is going to have to be especially focused on D, because you just know Harden wants to show him up.
4) Payne is going to have to play a lot of minutes tonight as our only real PF, so I guess we will learn a little about his lung issues. I want to see this excellent PnR defense that Flip has been raving about.
5) I want to see Brewer shoot 10 3-pointers, and make 1. Let's start regressing back toward the mean tonight.
I take it as a moral victory that the Rockets are favored by less than 10 when we have three guys out. We have a shot if Beverly can't play, because their other PGs just joined the team. Then again, that just means the ball will be in Harden's hands the entire night.

Ah, so by joining the team, he meant coming to Minneapolis for his physical...I guess that kind of makes sense.

Re: Wolves vs Rockets GDT: KG sighting?
Martin's guarded the tougher offensive assignment the last two games. Against Golden State, Martin was on Thompson, Wiggins was on Barnes. Against Phoenix, Martin was on Green, Wiggins was on Tucker. I'm not sure why that is, but I expect tonight to continue in that pattern. That means Martin on Harden, Wiggins on Ariza.
Push it to 5-2 in the last seven games. That'd be fun.

Maybe we'll see some GRIII at small ball PF, throwback to his Michigan days, since Payne is the only available 4.
Ahh, who am I kidding. Flip won't give him any burn.
