Wolves shopping Bennett

Post by TeamRicky [enjin:6648771] »

"The Wolves are reportedly shopping out-of-favor forward Anthony Bennett, and they are said to be eyeing Kevin Seraphin of the Wizards.

Its about time, though Flip should have dumped AB on Philly instead of the Miami pick.

Hind sight is great, isn't it?

An argument can be made it's premature to give up on Bennett. However, the elephant in the room is his large and ever-increasing salary...

Nope. It was foresight. I was not on the AB bandwagon and said keep the pick.

Well, yeah, you, Cam and a few others preferred to not take a chance on Bennett. What if taking Bennett was a requirement for getting Wiggins? Would have passed on Wiggins, too?

I blame Thad Young for all of this.

I was always in the camp of getting Wiggins and I don't think we had to take AB, but if so yes we take on AB, but Philly offered to give us Thad for AB and not the Miami pick. And so I preferred giving up AB to Philly and keeping the Miami Pick. I didn't think Miami would be this bad, but because I didn't see AB panning out I felt a mid round pick was preferable and even if he turned out to be an ok rotation player I didn't think he was worth the contract.

We should trade AB to Miami for their first round pick. :)

Or how about AB to the Sixers for Noel. :). Ok, maybe we'd have to throw in some cash.

So doogie saying they brought Bennett up turns into "Wolves Shopping Bennett" ???

Moving AB for less than a first would be stupid. He is a developing player making around MLE money. Flip has been limiting his minutes so I fail to see the incentive to dump him. He is already a better rebounder, and IMO a better defender than Thad, and until recently had about the same offensive efficiency. Thad makes over 9 mil a year, and is likely opting out for a more lucrative deal (if he stays in Minny). Right now neither look like a starter moving forward, but Bennett still has upside.

I would prefer they give him 25-30 minutes a night CONSISTENTLY for the remainder of the season before making any decisions. Thad supporters are pointing to the improvement since Ricky came back, but why can't we give the same opportunity to the player that actually has the tools to be a starter.
