I HATE GARNETT. I am not sure I have ever loathed a player more. If it is even partially true that we had other opportunities for trades, but chose rather to get Garnett, I will lose all respect for Flip. Garnett holds zero value to this franchise in any capacity. And I don't see KG signing for vet min, which is what he is worth. He is going to get 5-7M per....watch. And again, we waste money on players that have no business on this team. I just don't get it.

HICKS --I just don't get it. ---
He's a future minority owner. That's why. Glen is 73, this was a business decision. That's my GUESStimate

Love this deal for us. Getting rid of Thad is something we had to do. He was going to opt in (da) and take minutes away from Payne, AB, and our first round pick PF in the upcoming draft. Getting KG to mentor the kids is good and having the old cast back from the WCF run is all good. Look for Sammy Cassell to be brought in next as an assistant coach. Fred Hoiberg head??

Next year is going to be fun to watch!!! I'm with the 4-5 guys on this board who are high on this trade....addition by subtraction plus fill up TC and let's watch KG get target center pumped up and rockin again!! Awesome deal Flip in more ways than 1!!

Maelstrom -- I was highlighting the parts of your post that I agreed with, ended up highlighting the whole thing. Agree with your take!

What do you guys think would have been worse for us? Thad opting in or out? Because (take this with a box of salt) but Flip and Milt made it seem like they were PRETTY sure Thad was opting OUT.

Yeah, but KG never won anything here when he was in his prime. I don't see anything to be romantic about.

then you can't lament the loss of any singular player that has ever worn this uniform.

Yeah. I've been thinking he was taking the money from the beginning. There's $10M staring at him. He's not getting more than that. Now... if he was older, I can see him trading less money for more years. But, he's only 26... so the longer year deal is still there waiting for him after NEXT season.

[edit: after reading more posts... i fully realize i'm only a couple hours late repeating what others wrote... my bad.]
