Yes, the defense has been markedly better. The number of open paths to the rim have diminished immensely! We'll see if that can continue against other teams.
I don't wanna be the buzzkill, but this Wizards team is without Pierce and Beal. They're very much shorthanded.
No, you want to be a buzzkill, because it bugs the hell out of you that we are better off with KG and Payne at PF than Thad Young.

A couple things about KG. He is the king of moving screens without being called for them so that is going to help the offense a lot. Also if he can give us 20 MPG's and be available to close out games he can help a lot on the court as a player over just being a mentor. He's a great defensive complement and defensive rebounder next to Pek. Flip's long two offense is also in KG's wheelhouse at this point in his career. It may be one game, but there was a different energy to this team tonight. Even more so than the first game back from the break when everyone's energy was already good in that game. Being able to win games we're supposed to win will make for a much more pleasant home stretch of the season.
Man that was fun. Too bad I couldn't go tonight... but I have really nice tickets for Saturday and Monday. 2.5 hour drive to get to the cities and 2.5 to get back, 10 hours of driving :o
