Wiggins gets MVP award
Re: Wiggins gets MVP award
Zach wins it easily. As they say, he was born for it...
Hopefully he can focus on playing team basketball now! ;-)

Zach left only 6 points on the table, impressive!

Dr J was just jealous.

Everyone knows I lobby for Bazz hard. But I have to say I was most impressed with him in the rising stars game. Not because he was the most talented player on the court, but he looked like the most in control of his body and looked poised. Him a Mirotic really looked like vets out there in comparison to the rest of the players.

Lol... Okay. I'm not sure how one looks poised during an All-Star game. It's essentially a show-off game and Bazz fit in. Had a couple jams. Tried a pretty bad alley-oop pass at one point.
And if we're going "who looked like vets", I'd say it was Mirotic and Schroeder without a doubt. How ironic that those two guys play for championship contenders. No wonder.

Do you just like pissin' in everyone's cheerios or something? You're one of the biggest downers I've come across :/
We had as good of a showing as we could have possibly had at the all-star game this weekend and you're still grumpy for lord knows what reason. We finally have talent to build around and people are posting positive vibes, nothing wrong with a little hope for a bright future.

Nothing was down about my post. Get a grip. I'm excited about the future too.

As a coach myself, I tend to identify with this way of thinking. So I could give a flying you know what about whether Zach has been a "net negative" so far this year. What I care about is the process of him building his individual game, as well as building chemistry with his teammates. And though I realize my opinion doesn't mean much to some of you, I see the process taking place, and it's headed in the right direction. Most of the NBA people I respect seem to have the same opinion.
So you can see how I might get tired of reading the same knee jerk rhetoric after damnear every game.
Spot on Cool. He's probably been a net negative in individual games more times than not, but that isn't what is important and people may forget there is a lot of value in him getting more playing time, ESPECIALLY with Ricky.

I don't disagree with LST's two points or Hockey's post above. The "argument" - if you can call it that - is around Cool's sensitivity to anything negative said about Zach and requesting that I put a moratorium on it, as if he should somehow be immune to criticism. I didn't know 13th picks in the draft earning millions per year should never be criticized for their play or be objectively evaluated.
It's really not about that either. It's general blanket negativity or saying Lavine has no skills to play PG or that he should be sent to the D league. The dude is NINETEEN and was thrown into the PG role which he has little to no experience playing. OF COURSE it's going to be a tough go in that situation and he's likely to be a net negative game to game in the short term. He's also not playing the type of PG that fits his skills (as someone pointed out recently, they have him bring the ball up and pass it off). They rarely have him creating when he's definitely shown the ability to do so.
The important thing is improvement and experience. The NBADL wouldn't get him anywhere near the experience he's been getting this season. The only reason to send someone down outside of rehab is to get them more minutes b/c they are sitting on the bench. Neither is the case for him. Robinson is the guy who should be down there.

Heh, so I guess we won't hear from you about how much you want to get rid of Kevin Martin or how agonizing it is for you when Wiggins doesn't get enough touches or how poor Thad Young has played. After all, you've mentioned these points multiple times. why do we need to hear it any more? Or does this only apply to me as it relates to anytime I might mention Zach's poor play?
Lavine and Wiggins are 19 while Martin is 32 and Thad is a 26 yr old 7 year vet who was dogging it. It's one thing for rookies to make certain mistakes, but when you see your vets doing those things or dogging it, it's frustrating.
