True, plus the rebounding dominance we showed at the start of the game before AB went down was something I haven't seen from this team very much, and made me think we're not going to miss Thad that much. And while I agree that Mo is a much better backup PG, I'm not going to miss his defense or occasional lack of effort.

What a joy to talk about how we didn't beat a team as badly as we should have...how many times in the Thad era did we make that comment?

The rest of the month is brutal though. I'm afraid that even with the good vibe we have going, we will be fortunate to go 1-3.

Eh, you are overplaying the rebounding card LST. Thad is just flat out a better all-around player than Payne and Bennett. There is more to the game than rebounding. And KG's impact will be limited to 15-20 MPG and no back-to-backs.

What continues to baffle me is that we had a cheap, lunchpail PF in Adrien that was as good of a rebounder as anyone else on this squad and Flip inexplicably let him go.

We are still 1 REALLY great player (looking at you Towns!) away from having a remote chance to contend on a regular basis in the West, so while I love these competitive fun games, finishing .500 on the season would not be awesome.

There are times that I have felt the same way, zig, and actually preferred to see the team play well but lose close games. I'm not there now though...I'm all about wins now. Let's face it...there's no chance Philly, NY and the Lakers don't pass us. Look at their rosters...we're going to blow by all three of them and end up with the 4th most pp balls at best. The real risk is the next tier of lottery teams. We're 6-8 games behind those teams, and it seems unlikely that we can pass any of them in just 29 games. But strange things happen at the end of a season, and I think the Wolves are still going to win 25...so there is some risk of losing out on the Big 5.

Wait, ignore all that. I just remembered that Cool has guaranteed a lottery win his year, so ping pong balls are irrelevant!

True LST - no reason to even watch the lottery this year. Just decide what player you want, that's all you need to do.

Saying Thad is better than Payne right now.. well no shit haha, he hasn't even had the chance to play due to injury & sitting behind vets. He now has the chance so we have to wait and see who is better for THIS team (which is what actually matters).
