Best breakdown of the guys including Escobar I have seen. The pitcher seems to easily be the most intruiging. It's worth remembering Escobar was the guy acquired for Liriano who was basically a rental.

Twins trade Pressly for a couple prospects from Houston. Both guys they got back seem like pretty worthwhile prospects. There was some reports teams were making offers on him that made them listen.

FROM THE ASTROS TRADE

Jorge Alcala - RHP (Ranked 10th in Astros system)

Scouting grades: Fastball: 70 | Slider: 55 | Curveball: 50 | Changeup: 50 | Control: 45 | Overall: 50
Eligible to sign as a 16-year-old Dominican in July 2011, Alcala had to wait more than three years before the Astros gave him a $10,000 bonus in December 2014. He has enjoyed consistent success since turning pro, posting a 2.87 ERA while reaching Class A Advanced in his first three seasons, and his velocity keeps rising to the point where he now has the best fastball among Houston farmhands. His fastball repeatedly touched 99 mph in each of his starts during the last three months of 2017, maxing out at 102.

Alcala's heater sat at 93-95 mph during his 2016 U.S. debut and operated at 95-98 last year. He has life on his fastball too, though he doesn't miss as many bats as expected yet because the quality of his secondary pitches fluctuates. His upper-80s slider and low-80s curveball all more notable for their velocity than their bite and can get slurvy at times, while his changeup can get too firm.

Alcala does show aptitude for making adjustments, so the Astros believe he can remain a starter. His control and command also need refinement, but he's making progress in both areas. If he does wind up in the bullpen, he has closer potential and could regularly hit 100 mph in shorter stints.

Celestino performed well for Dominican teams at a variety of international tournaments, including the 2011 Cal Ripken World Series as a 12-year-old, the 2013 Pan American 15-and-under championships and the 2015 National High School Invitationals. His combination of tools and polish earned him a $2.5 million bonus from the Astros in 2015. He made his U.S. debut at age 17 in 2016 and held his own as one of the youngest regulars in the Rookie-level Appalachian League last year.

Celestino has done nothing to dispel the Albert Almora comparisons that started when he was an amateur. They're both skilled center fielders with strong arms and instincts that stand out more than their pure speed, and their hitting ability is more promising than their power potential. The biggest difference between the two is that Celestino is less physical, and he still needs to prove he can make enough impact at that plate to become an everyday player in the big leagues.

A rare player who bats right-handed but throws left-handed, Celestino has a handsy stroke that sprays line drives to all fields. He has the bat speed to reach double digits in home runs, though he'll need to continue to add strength, incorporate his lower half into his swing and hit more balls in the air to get there. He has solid speed and the savvy to steal bases.

While it's disappointing to see that management has thrown in the towel on this year, I think it's realistic and I continue to be impressed with their decision making. Escobar was the most popular guy on the team (just like he was on the White Sox) and his departure was emotional. But if his price tag is reasonable in the offseason, I wouldn't be shocked if we resigned him as a free agent.

Been there both times the night that Eduardo Escobar has been traded in his pro career. This was eerily similar to that one in seeing a bunch of teammates/staff hurt by the news. Everything you've heard and seen is true. Hard to fake being the beloved guy.

I been thinking of trade ideas and I think Brewers are prefect fit

Catcher Jacob Nottingham solid Catching prospect which we don't have. Had a lot pop in his bat hitting 20 home runs in double A Last year and contiuey getting better behind the plate. In 2017 he threw out 40% of runners.

I think this trade makes a lot of sense, Brewers I think will overpay because they want a championship so bad just like the did with CC Sabathia back in the day.

The Twins would there middle infield missing piece for the next 10 years hopefully. A hopeful double A arm you hope deveolpes and a badly needed catching prospect.

I guess we could throw lance Lynn in there the brewers need starting pitching really badly and he would know the no central pretty well and has a good track record against the Cubs

Also we need to remember Gibson is pretty valuable trade chip because of being signed through 2019 for cheap. I honestly can't think of another pitcher who's on the block as good as him besides maybe Chris Archer

I like Jesters trade. I think Lynn has value to some National League teams. Seems like a cheap option for Brewers.
