cousins

Post by apollotsg [enjin:6592798] »

I have never like Cousins - ever. I thought he had mental issues that could not be overcome by maturity or mentoring.

I have changed my mind. http://www.news10.net/videos/sports/2015/02/06/22967433/

The guy wants to be a winner and just needs someone to be a leader on his team to get everyone going in the right direction. I would trade his heart and antics for any amount of Bennetts we might have. He just isnt a leader and desperately needs that for himself and his team. I suspect that Malone filled that role for him.

I doubt the Kings would entertain offers for him, but I'd trade the top overall pick for him. They can have Okafor. Cousins is a beast.

I'm impressed. Hypothetically what would it possibly take to snag him? That's the question.

I wouldn't go after him. Why? For as passionate as he was in that postgame, he doesn't follow his own advice. Don't call out the team for not playing hard yet he does this two nights earlier.

The Kings replaced the one coach who finally connected with Cousins and had him playing consistently at a top 10 player in the league pace... with Tyrone Corbin...

The management of that organization is longing for a David Kahn type. Chris Mullin will be coaching next season but what they did to Malone this season is part of the reason the Kings and Cousins tanked almost as soon as the move was made.

I'm with you, WW...I want nothing to do with this talented, but petulant, player. His willingness to throw his teammates under the bus to the media reminds me of a certain disgruntled PF who used to play here. Demarcus Cousins could be a consistent all-star player in this league, but he will never be a good teammate.

The Wolves will NEVER trade for Cousins. You can take that prognostication to the bank!

Because we should have just drafted him.

Cam - If we had drafted him we would have traded him by now. Drafting him would have been the right decision based on the principle of drafting the best talent. But trust me, Cousins is widely regarded around the League as a bad seed and very bad teammate. The Kings have been trying to trade him for the last couple years but haven't found takers willing to give a lot of value in return. Sooner or later a team will give up quite a bit to get him and he'll be traded. But it won't be the Wolves. It will be a team with someone like David Kahn at the helm. And no matter where he goes, Cousins will be a problem -- unless he were to somehow end up with the Spurs surrounded by Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Greg Popovich.

To be fair, he call himself out more than once in that interview. He was calling out the entire team, him included. He gained a little respect from me with it. We've seen him play well for a coach and the team fired em. Stupid. I hope someone trades for him and gets him to respond.
