Wolves or Bucks...
Not everything is entirely accurate in this piece, but it still gives a nod to two promising teams. One team is already showing results in the standings. The other is bit further from relevancy, but should be getting better in the next few years.

Which one do you take?
[note: personally, i think the 2015 draft will be very important in figuring it out.]

Re: Wolves or Bucks...
I said preseason I'd rather have Minnesota's pieces. We have the greater potential plus better veteran pieces. The Bucks have been much better than expected this year, but I'd argue that we too would have been better than expected (.500 ball) if not for three key players along with others missing significant time.
Add a top-five pick to what we already have. Add a Bjelica and/or Bojan to the asset pool. I think it's not even a question that we're the surpreme up-and-comer in the NBA.

I voted Wolves but as you say it has a lot to do with the boost we should get with our top pick this year. I like the ceiling of Wiggins much better than Parker, and the Bucks seem to have more injury prone players than even the Wolves have.
Still the whole discussion is rather exciting to me as I was a die hard Bucks fan until the Wolves became a franchise. Okay, start with the AARP jokes.

I added my Wolves-homer vote to the poll. I thought it was a fairly good analysis from the writer, as I only took issue with these two comments:
1)Rubio still can't shoot (while his numbers this year are very close to Knight's)
2) It's impossible to consider anyone else other than KAT as the number #1 pick this year. Hey, I like Towns, but come on!
I think the author must give a lot of weight to the superiority of the Bucks' management team in forming his conclusion. While we all agree that the Wolves' front office has butchered decisions in the past, the adage "past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results" holds true here, especially since the villains of the past are mostly gone and the one who isn't (Taylor) seems to be more in the backseat than he used to be. I prefer to evaluate which team is more promising based on who will be on the court more than ownership.

If we can draft Russell then we would have a big 3 of Rubio, Russell, and Wiggins to grow up together. We need to solve our PF issue. I do not like the moves Flip has made to solve it. That concerns me. That being said Parker, Greek Freak, and Brandon Knight make a great core.
I just think Wiggins plus a top 5 pick in a draft with great prospects really sets us up to be better than the Bucs. I think the Bucs can really do damage in the East for some years.

The good news TRKO is that PF has to be the easiest position in the league to fill. If no one on the present roster steps up, we have a lot of ways to find another option.

We have spent two first rounders on PFs and got the former number 1 overall pick in the draft who also is a PF, and I'm still not sure the answer is on our roster. All I want is a great defender and rebounder. I just want a guy to fill that role. I think if we get Russell or Okafor in the draft we will have our scorers. We need a gritty defender/rebounder. A dirty work guy.

I voted neither, as I literally think it's a toss-up. Yes, I like Rubio + Wiggins better than Knight + Parker, but Giannis is the wildcard. That dude is only 20 years old and could be a jack-of-all-trades SF in the mold of peak Marion or peak Kirilenko - except Giannis has handles too! With him in the mix, Parker can just be a scorer, Knight doesn't have to be a brilliant playmaker, and Giannis wreaks havoc defensively and helps with some of the playmaking offensively. I like that core group a lot.
We have more wildcards with the likes of LaVine, Shabazz, and this year's lottery pick. But Shabazz has a ceiling in my opinion that is lower than Giannis and LaVine/this year's lotto pick are question marks - we don't know if they will be great. Giannis is more of a known entity and is already very good. He's only going to get better.
So Rubio + Wiggins + multiple wildcards = Knight + Parker + Giannis

A Kenneth Farried if you will.
