Do you really think he is a fit on this team? I understand wanting to see him start playing better with the starters in hopes to raise his trade stock, but that's about it.
Question: Did you like how our team played through our first four games? I did, and I thought Young was a (not the, but a) reason why we were competitive. Obviously Rubio is the cog that makes this thing work, but I am more than fine with waiting to see how Young's game is affected. He needs Rubio to get him the ball in places he'll thrive. Young's always been at his best in the painted area. Right now, he's having to create those shots on his own. Either way, Young is not an above average rebounder, but he needs Pekovic to help him on the glass. Dieng's a good rebounder, but he doesn't take up as much space. And Young needs Martin to space the floor. We still have no legitimate shooter on the court. It's harder for all paint players when the defense doesn't have to guard the three-point line.
So, is Young a fit with THIS team? Williams - Wiggins - Budinger - Dieng? No, I think it's fair to say he is not. Is he a fit with Rubio - Martin - Wiggins - Pekovic?
I don't think there's an answer yet, and if there was, it'd be leaning towards maybe.
