Least you would take from the Hornets

Post by kekgeek »

Ton of rumors coming out that the Hornets want #1.

What is the least you would to do the trade.

I would want #3, bridges and a future lotto protected 1st that protection continues to go down

That sounds about right.

I don't know if Bridges does anything for me. He went from having an OK-ish rookie year to going backwards in his second year. Not good. Obviously PJ and a future 1st would be ideal.

At a minimum, I'd probably be fine with getting #3 and a 2021 1st rounder that is top 5 protected. I'm not sure I'd really need anything else to pull the trigger.

If the Wolves don't think there's much gap between #1 and #3... any additional asset is good in my book.

Pick. Decent player. Both.

Yes. Yes. YES.

While I would hold out for similar deal, I am not sure they give us another 1st. That is a lot to give up to move up 2 spots in this draft. If Wiseman was an absolute guarantee, I would say it could be well worth the investment. But the reality is that Wiseman isn't even seen by many as the top guy.

That said, it only takes that 1 team to absolutely fall in love with a player. And it seems based on every article, Hornets would be that team. And at least based on the feedback in regards to Edwards and Ball during interviews and workouts, their poor performances in these areas may make a team like the Hornets do something drastic. That has to be working in Wolves favor at moment.

That said, I like Wiseman a lot, and I am not so sure I would trade him. But if we did do deal above, I would absolutely look to immediately flip the #3 for a pick a bit later and take a guy like Okongwu, Halliburton or Avdija, Vassell or Williams and acquire an additional asset. Someone is going to LOVE Ball, and I would think someone will give up similar deal to above to get him at 3. I absolutely want nothing to do with Ball, so I am good moving down a bit.

I think Bridges is still a young athlete that other teams may consider an asset. Maybe he just ends up being trade fodder, but he's as good as any of the wings he'd be competing for playing time with on our roster right now. No downside in him being added to a deal.

I guess if I had a choice between Bridges OR lighter protection on the future 1st, I'd pick the latter. That was my point in terms of a "minimum" deal I'd take.

We are really light on forwards, so he could push Jake "worst toe injury in the history of mankind" Laymen for minutes.

Agreed. It seems like this draft has almost no one I'm interested in the top 3 to 5 (with the exception of Wiseman) and then a TON of prospects I kind of like between like 6 and 30.

I'd agree... but I have a sneaky suspicion Haliburton is going earlier than many expected.

Just seems like he's closer to a "sure thing" amid a lot of unknowns... even if he has a visible ceiling.

I might be crazy but I'd rather get McDaniels back than Bridges. Give me 3, McDaniels and a future top 5 protected 1st.
