I don't have a big issue with him smoking pot, but trying to bring it with him on a plane is incredibly dumb. In fact, using it is dumb since I think it's on the NBA's list of banned substances, which they test for periodically.

The Beasley incident may amount to very little. But regardless of the outcome, it inclines me even more to want the Wolves to emphasize character, intelligence and judgment in their draft decisions this Fall. It's not so much the fact that you'd rather have your players on the court than in prison. And it's not even the PR damage to the organization that concerns me. It's just the simple fact that the best players in the NBA tend to be smart and focused enough to avoid situations that expose them to felony arrests - or even misdemeanor arrests. Never in a million years would LeBron allow himself to be in a situation like DLO's situation in the airport a couple years ago or what appears to be the situation Beasley was in when recently arrested. Same for Giannis, Harden, Curry, Thompson, Durant or any number of the other top players in the League today.

So the Wolves had better be really serious and thorough in their due diligence when examining the character, focus and judgment of draft prospects.

I agree what you are saying but Lebron son who is 14 or 15 posted on tik tok of him smoking weed.

Shams: Minnesota's Malik Beasley has been released from jail and there are no official charges at this time, per his attorney Steven Haney.

This is my sentiment too. Hopefully it can save us a few million. Now we can give him his 4mil QO and see what kind of offers he gets with a weapons charge hanging over him. We may have just gotten the deal of the century.

Steph Curry signed a four-year, $44-million contract before winning two MVP's. That's probably the deal of the century right now, right? Haha

That was a great deal for the Warriors, But it was a number of years ago, so the number seems smaller in comparison to equivalent contracts today. Moreover, Curry was having some injury issues at the time. I think a 4 year $48 million contract would be appropriate for Beasley. It would give him security at a time when the NBA's revenue and resulting salary landscape are in flux. It would also give him a great opportunity to be a starting SG on a team with two all-stars and the chance to make the playoffs. And now, it might be really generous in the wake of his arrest. Right now, I'm not sure I'd want to re-sign him. Let's see what emerges from the investigation following his arrest. It might have been one huge misunderstanding. Or he might have been in wrong place at the wrong time - although it was his own home. :). We'll see.

Perhaps we'll begin to see why Denver seemed to have so little interest in keeping him.

Remember DLO got busted for pot possession too. So Rosas big moves have been trading for two potheads and drafting a wing who can't shoot. Rosas is not the answer.

For sure, but if we could have gotten future 3pt contest winner Beasley for 5 mil per it would be huge for us pathetic Wolves fans. Now he looks innocent, what a shame.

Perhaps another Beasley, Michael, Jordan Hill or Larry Sanders was hanging there too. Can't wait for the TMZ story.

If you're a really good team you can get by with having a couple knuckleheads on your roster. But when you suck this kind of stuff just buries you. Do some homework before you bring any more problems on to the team.
