Wolves fire rosas!!!
Re: Wolves fire rosas!!!
The Athletic is reporting on this so it's completely legit. They published a lengthy article with everything culture then mentioned the relationship etc.
Re: Wolves fire rosas!!!
The Wolves have had some bad GMs but I'm really loathing Rosas right now. I still dislike Kahn more but Rosas has moved into the 2nd most disliked Wolves GM. I wasn't really old enough (or maybe had enough access to media) to be aware of Wolves GMs before McHale.
Re: Wolves fire rosas!!!
Its a culmination of many things: lack of success, toxic relationships and the affair. But whatever the reason, I think this is a good thing for the Wolves moving forward and I like Gupta's analytical based approach.
https://uproxx.com/dimemag/timberwolves-fire-gersson-rosas-dysfunction-affair/ Excerpt: In recent days, the organization discovered that Rosas, who is married, had a consensual intimate relationship with a member of the organization, The Athletic has learned from multiple sources. It made several people within the organization uncomfortable, sources said. While this was not the reason for Rosas' dismissal, it certainly impacted the timing.
CBS Minnesota had reported likewise earlier in the evening that an "inappropriate relationship" had contributed to his firing on Wednesday, and while The Athletic's report quotes a source as saying the decision was "performance related," it certainly seems to have accelerated the decision to let him go.
In total, Rosas' downfall in Minnesota seems to have followed a path many executives have, where promises of a family environment are met with a reality of cold business decisions made that rub longtime members of an organization the wrong way and, when coupled with a lack of on-court success, that dysfunction builds to a place where something like an extramarital affair in the office is enough to tip the scales completely

Flip Saunders' second stint in Minnesota is far worse than the several years Gersson Rosas just had, in my opinion. That's maybe a conversation for another time, but I've talked about those moves at length on here at one point or another. Trading a first-round pick for Adreian Payne... Trading a young Thaddeus Young for an old Kevin Garnett... severely overpaying Nikola Pekovic... trading down for Shabazz Muhammad while missing out on C.J. McCollum and Giannis Antetokounmpo... bad.

While the Payne trade and drafting Bazz irked me, Flip did the right thing and drafted KAT. I still think the bottom two are Thibs and Kahn, with Rosas probably third worst. McFail and Flip weren't great GMs, but they did draft KG and KAT respectively, so they are above the latter three.

You should look up the definition of "rumor" and come back to me. Also, I specifically noted that it wasn't validated information at the time, but here we are hours later and it appears that individual had a very real source(s) close to the situation -- much closer than anyone here. And that's why I shared it. Once again, thanks for being my number one fan. :)

Cam to clarify this isn't just about basketball. I think what Rosas did was pretty shitty especially for what he claimed he was. People make mistakes but damn I did not see this coming.
McHale would be up there if you separated his last few years from having some legit success early on.

Considering that twitter account had this story back in July... he might have 650 followers by midnight.

I can understand that. I guess it depends on what you feel is more egregious -- inappropriate workplace relationships or inauspicious nepotism. I'm not a fan of either, obviously.
