Well, it seems like he's taking this one on his shoulders. I didn't think he was particularly engaged for much of the game, but I don't think he was the sole reason for losing. Hope he brings it against Atlanta!
Love a young guy like that not making excuses and putting it on himself.
Okay, nobody thought we were going to beat a very good Brooklyn team with KAT, Jaden and PatBev out. So I think most of us feel pretty good about this one. I really didn't expect to watch the entire replay this morning, but this was not a game you could turn away from. Had we made a few shots, we could have stolen one here.
- I've been praising DLo's turnaround season, but unfortunately this was vintage DLo...just with his new-found inability to shoot thrown in. Poor offensive flow (except for his three brilliant assists to begin the second half), continuing shooting woes, and defense that looked like the DLo of old. I liked Finch taking him out on defense in the closing minutes, but we need DLo to be more engaged on D.
- The story of the game in one stat? DLo a -16 in 34 minutes, Leo +19 in 25 minutes. We need more offense from Leo and I think it will come, but he tonight he made it impossible for Finch to not play him. His length and defensive footwork remindful of Jaden were on display, along with his refusal to turn the ball over (unlike Ant and DLo who had 12 of our 15 TOs). 5 rebounds, but also a few more tips that either led to a defensive rebound or kept an offensive possession alive. This kid can play!
-Vando continues to impress. A double double with 6 offensive boards, and rolling to the rim much better. He and Naz both work very well with DLo.
-I love Beasley's work ethic and his shot seems to be returning, but his forced shots at the end of the game were costly. Take the wide open three, Beas, but don't force it.
3 home games coming up before the schedule turns ugly. It would be nice to have KAT return along with this season's version of DLo as opposed to the retro DLo we saw in this one. It's a critical time of the season, and the next couple weeks will give us a better indication of whether this is a 40-win team or a 30-win team.

Well... ummm... there's becoming a trend in the Abe's Late Night Review reports. I fell asleep again.
Maybe I can spin it into a new segment measuring how long into the game I make it before falling asleep. Measure it on a scale of 1 - 5 "z" or something.
[Note: Besides, I watched four basketball games in a row before trying to settle in at home to watch the local pro team. Maybe too much basketball... even for me.]

Well, I'm going to argue you didn't "turn away from" this game...you just fell asleep!
We are slaves to our circadian rhythms. You should consider joining Monster and me in the Morning Pre-work Coffee Review Club...admission is free, and we never fall asleep.

What happened to Monster? May be he's in shock at their decent play and is left without words to describe it!

He's alive and well over on the Twins board, Q-ster...I suspect he'll return to the Wolves discussion boards after we beat Atlanta tomorrow!
