A couple weeks ago, I would have forecast a starting lineup of Beverley, Edwards, Jaden, Simmons, KAT.

Now with no anticipated changes in the roster, I'd be disappointed if our starting lineup is anything other than the one you lay out, Q. I have to admit it's nice to have a shooter like Beasley and a few strong defenders like Beverly and Okogie (and maybe Bolmaro) available on the bench when the situation dictates a need for them.

Anyway, I anticipate a nice starting lineup and rotation thread as we get closer to Game 1.

The thing I like about this starting lineup is that while it still doesn't have the sheer strength and toughness upfront, it does have good length at nearly every position. DLO and Ant are a big PG/SG pairing. McD has elite length for a SF. Vando and KAT have weak bases, but are very rangy and mobile. If our defense has any hope, it's that this group gets a ton of deflections and disrupts passing lanes. But once someone gets into the paint with the ball, there isn't much this group (or the bench group) can do.

I'm with you and FNG on that starting lineup. I think it's the best lineup we can roll out and it would give us a solid and fairly well-balanced bench with Beasley's offense and Beverley's two-way play. I also think that's the starting lineup Finch will be inclined to go with. If you saw the Wolves recent press conference, you heard Finch talk about how Vanderbilt's metrics drive winning. Gersson talked about the need for better rebounding. All of that points to Vando as our starting PF. And I think that means McDaniels at SF. One of the things Finch made clear when he arrived was the need to have more length on the floor. So while we'll see some small ball, we won't see it as the default or favored option the way we did under Ryan.

For the record, the DLO, Edwards, McDaniels, Vando and KAT lineup is my favorite as well. The last game against the Mavs was the first time we saw that starting lineup. It dominated. I want to see more.

Bolmaro is definitely talented. Note that he's doing the things in this video as a 20 year old against the best professional basketball players outside the NBA.

Christopher Hine: Chris Finch was candid on Leandro Bolmaro's shot technique on his shot when asked by .@JaceFrederick "It's certainly not consistent and the form needs to be worked on and that kind of takes a longer runway, but we feel like we can get him to being a good shooter just with strength and rhythm and a few tweaks here and there." When asked if that was a longer-term project, Finch joked: "No we plan to have it done by lunch tomorrow." Heh, leave it to the Wolves to draft someone with broken shooting mechanics. That seems to be a specialty of ours. And we've been so great at fixing these issues over the years too....not!

That being said, Bolmaro seems to have the other facets of the game pretty well covered. Handles, passing, active defense...He could be a bigger version of Rubio without the flashiness. That's not a bad player.

I agree. I've been impressed by those other facets of Bolmaro's game so far in his limited minutes this preseason. I haven't seen enough to comment on his shooting mechanics other than to say they look better than Rubio's. :)
