Vando: with dlo +6.8, without dlo -7.2 (14 pt difference)
Beasley: with dlo +5.9, without dlo -20 (25.9 pt difference)
Naz: with dlo -3.3, without dlo -19.5 (16.2 pt difference)
Okogie: with dlo +6.9, without dlo -19.3 (26.2 pt difference)
McDaniels: with dlo +6.4, without dlo -11 (17.4 pt difference)
All the Wolves role players have been pathetic this year when not playing with Dlo. Dlo 100% has faults but we are seeing what happens to the wolves when his playmaking and this year defense is not on the court for the Wolves. The Wolves fall apart. 0-5 in games dlo has missed what have all been blowouts and the 1 game Kat missed was a barnburner against the Nets.
I actually think when Dlo can't go Nowell needs to play more because he can play make a little. Because Ant and Kat are terrible at making others better eventhough they are the most talented players on the roster

Kek, I agree that DLo has been our overall most effective player this year...other than his poor shooting, I've liked his all-around game this season. That doesn't cheer me up much though, and I need cheering up after last night's debacle. I wonder how many GMs would say a team on which D'Angelo Russell is the most effective player is destined for success. I would guess not many  . I don't see this team making the playoffs until either KAT or Ant can demonstrate they can lead a team there.

Fungo, while I don't agree with your assessment of DLO's defense, he has made a positive impact this year. Much more than the last 2 years. Perhaps his upcoming contract has something to do with it. But he has missed 20% of our games and that can't be ignored.

Somebody else here (maybe kek?) pointed out that DLo's only two decent years have been his contract years. And yeah, DLo's injury history is a big factor in his worth to a club...he's really only had relatively complete seasons his rookie year and his last contract year. Still, it's clear that the Wolves are dreadful this season without him, so we need that ankle to heal. My guess is though our two PGs' injury history is going to keep us from sniffing a play-in spot.
Cam had mentioned that KAT looked disengaged in this game. I just watched the first 4 minutes of the replay (I don't think I can stomach any more), and I would say that is an understatement. His defense in the first four minutes makes me think he might have had a large wager on the Cavs. First, Markannen moves around a triple screen and goes in for an uncontested layup...KAT was the only guy who could have switched off his man and defended the play. A minute later, he is unaware that Allen has gotten behind him and is wide open for an alley oop dunk. Then less than a minute later, it happens again! But this time, KAT looks to the bench with his palms up in frustration indicating he didn't think it was his fault. KAT, it clearly was your fault! Just a sad display of indifferent defense.
