I think this thread needs to stop. Let's get back to basketball. It's hard enough to be a Timberwolves fan without trying to sort out life's most vexing political, social and public health issues. :) I have no idea whether Ben Simmons has received the Covid vaccine and I'm not particularly interested in knowing. But I am interested in knowing whether he'll end up on the Timberwolves. :)

And if one completely distrusts 100% of credentialed journalists/media, then what is the criteria for trusting the alternative sources (if any actually get cited)? How do we know those other sources of information are not part of some grand conspiracy to deceive and sow division? Or is it that the alternative sources spin a story that appeals to our most base assumptions about the "other side" and how the world works, so therefore it must be true!
In other words, a lot of folks end up defining their own truth, which I'm afraid is where WolvesFan has landed. No amount of citing of sources that challenge his worldview will suffice, since whatever it is that's presented to him as fact, he will immediately assume is fiction - after all, it's part of the grand conspiracy to control our minds. Good heavens, we're the ones being led astray, not him!
Especially when there is proof there are and have been external sources playing the long game of sowing division in the US. A certain country has quite literally been trying to upend the US for 40ish years and they're not just playing one side, they're playing both. Once social media blew up they had the tool they needed to really do damage.
